Kid’s gonna be a pain to deal with. I know very little about him because I wasn’t exactly paying attention to Washington State last year, but he threw for 3,139, 29 TD’s and 7 INT.

He also added another 826 and 15 TD’s on the ground at 4.5 a carry.

So right at 4,000 yards and 44 TD’s in the 2024 season.

Kid is legit, early Heisman watch apparently.

Ok ok… I’ll admit I prematurely did not check Wash St’s 2024 schedule before posting.

I’m 39 and never played football and I might be able to rack up some decent stats against that schedule.
Worked for Pavia and Cam Ward also came out of WSU the year before then going to Miami and being the number one pick. The OC and QB coach went to Oklahoma with him. Who knows the SEC seems wide open this year with all the new QB's including Aguilar.

You might not have played football, but I bet you can find the perfect 4 bedroom, 3 bath tri-level for a growing family in the right school district

Mateer is good. He’s never experienced a stadium like Neyland, so we will need to be ready to make his life hell.

People also forget that Oklahoma was completely depleted at WR due to injuries last year as well. This will definitely not be the same Oklahoma team we faced last year in Norman! They are going to be a problem this year, even at home!
What cruel irony if Huepel loses to his alma mater in Neyland. Man, I really hope we win that game. Can't imagine what the atmosphere around the program would be like if they lost it.

Scored 14 against Wyoming.

He'll be the least of their problems tho. Their last guy didn't stand a chance with such a bad O last year.

It'll he similar to whichever QB wins the job for Tenn, as it's less about them and more about if the rest of the O is worth a flip (my answer to that is yes btw).

I think there will still be some grace if they still go 9-3 because that means you completed another milestone: beat Florida or Bama on the road or finally beat Georgia. I think most vol fans would be happy with that trade.
Plus, if they lose that game, they possibly lose to Florida later, which would knock them out of the playoffs or solidify a bad season and the OU game won't be thought of near as much.

I'd be thrilled with 9-3 this year. Still think it's 7-5 most likely with losses to UGA, Bama, UF, OU plus one stinker, but 8-4 would be solid, too.

I wouldn't say stud, but he's likely to be far better than what OU ran out last year. And if they had competent QB play, we might have lost that game.

Oklahoma doesn’t get enough grief for the self sabotage they committed against TN last year. The idiots tried to slow us down by flooding the field and then found out we don’t use receivers anyway.

So why say he is going to be a stud??

There are a lot of scenarios on how the season could play out. Any coach at any program is just one season from the hot seat. It's not a TN thing it's just the times we live in.

You really have to consider the source here.
Sure 7-5 is "possible." Every team in the SEC can beat you on any given Saturday if you don't play your A game and a bounce of the ball goes against you. Hell, Vandy beat #1 Bama, beat both Auburn and Kentucky on the road, and lost by 3 to TEXAS! But, saying 7-5 is most likely is selling this UT team short. When you include depth at all positions, this is without a doubt Heupe's most talented roster at UT.
