Oklahoma Game Attendance

There are several OU boards. The most irreverent and funniest is by far Landthieves.com. It is a much more contemporary board....lots of sarcasm and internal oneupsmanship. They are ok with visiting fans unless someone comes on with obvious vulnerability. It is patterned after Shaggy Bevo a similarly irreverent Texas board. Soonerillustrated, the Scout board, is very good.....an older more mature crowd. SoonerScoop is the Rivals board. Smaller group and older. Soonerfans.com is a very knowledgeable group. If I were a visitor I would pick either Soonerillustrated or Landthieves. By the way, Landthieves is what Texas fans call us;i.e. dirt burglars. This is all about the land run and the fact that the definition of a Sooner is someone who snuck into the territory as opposed to the Boomers who lined up on the Kansas line and went in when the gun (boom) went off.We are also referred to by the Horns as "Moblehoma"

that last sentence is funny, in that, I have always contended that the Mobile Home is the state bird of Oklahoma (with all due respect to the Scissor-tailed flycatcher)

Usually at the stadium right before kickoff you can get pretty good prices, but then again ive never seen nosebleed seats going fot 250+ apart.

I've been to many games in Neyland. Cheapest way to get a scalped ticket is to hang around until about kickoff and see what's available.

Most games scalpers are plentiful. I keep an eye on it even if I don't need tickets, just to gauge market price. I think it was Florida last year - tough ticket - didn't see many scalpers. Mostly people with fingers up saying how many they needed.

A party of one is a little easier to get a ticket. I have 3 seats and sometimes I need to just dump 1 ticket. Most are looking for a pair.

My advise would be to print out a stadium chart and keep it handy. There will be "entrepreneurs" with professionally made signs saying "need tickets". Probably not the best bang for your buck there. I prefer walking towards the stadium and looking for someone holding some in the air. Haggle a little - don't buy the first set you come to until you get a feel for the going rate. Best place to find tickets are from the torchbearer, down Peyton Manning pass and from there to the street outside of the stadium - over to gate 21 and the area at the base of the hill.

Coming in from out of town - kind of nice being in the stadium early and watching warmups. Waiting until kickoff to get in there would cheapen your experience I think.

Best of luck (in getting tickets) to ya.

Come out the second game of the season and pop Okie in the mouth we go to the swamp with a ton of momentum (after whipping WCU). Win the first four games of the season the east is settled in the Ga. game in my opinion.

Will be there and cannot wait. Probably one of the biggest games of the season and will set the tempo imo. Trying to get there early to enjoy the party with all my friends too.

The East would have all the traditional SEC power schools (minus only LSU) and would have no expansion teams (i.e. all would be from the original 10 SEC schools before 1992).

You have a valid point, but for the sake of accuracy, South Carolina is an "expansion team," didn't join until the 1991-1992 expansion to 12 (along with Arkansas). It's not one of the "original 10" you mentioned (Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Vandy, Bama, Auburn, LSU, and the two Mississippi teams make up those 10).

It makes sense that the SEC-West would have the vast majority of the expansion teams, though...since the SEC's expansion has been inexorably toward the west, into the Big8 - Big12 footprint. Starting with Arkansas, and continuing through A&M, Mizzou, and potentially the Oklahoma schools.

I like Vongeorgia's hypothetical breakout of an 8 + 8 SEC. Keeps the geography "right", solves the cross-divisional rivalry issues, and gives both the East and West their own distinct flavors.

Bring cash.. lots of it. Look on Stubhub for a sanity check.

Edit:
P.S. Hope you enjoy the game, regardless of the outcome and you leave with a favorable impression of the VOL faithful.:salute:

Nosebleed on stubhub for 156 apc. Still worth it
