JG is slow as hell he doesn't want to run at all and already gets hit way too much not a good idea. Slants only work if the defense respects the running game because a slant is thrown in the linebacker coverage zone. Toss sweeps ok may be but whos going to block? On defense everytime we blitz the player blitzing slows down for some reason. We blitz and get burned everytime. The guys are just not good enough.I'm certainly no coach but ... on offense I would throw more quick slants, more toss sweeps and more QB keepers. On defense I would blitz more. Then after all this failed ... I'd quit.
It’s not about what you would or wouldn’t call. Every team runs similar plays but they do it from multiple formations with different players. Nearly every time Amine enters the game it’s a sweep, nearly every time the fullback enters it’s a running play, etc. That can work if you have elite talent at every position but when you have questionable talent it gets you killed on offense. That is the issue
For starters, you get Chandler involved in the passing game.I want someone that's complaining about coaching to tell me what would you call. On offense what throw more? They can't pass protect. Run more they can't run block. More play action qb gets hit. More what wr can't run crisp patterns to get open because they are slow and dont get separation. All they really do well is jump balls. So please all you coaches tell me what in the hell is the staff supposed to do. Because honestly I don't have a clue.
That's my point these coaches know how to coach but it's hard to coach soft players with less talent. They may have been rated higher in high school but they have been out worked in college. It’s not about what you would or wouldn’t call. Are they better coached than last year? If you look at it as a whole season, I would say yes. Have this coaching staff made huge mistakes this year? Absolutely. But, a first time HC, with a rookie OC and DC are going to make those mistakes. However, there have been some flashes of really good coaching.
JG would not start for most Group of Five teams.Better coached this year than last? I don’t care about the records, but this is garbage football 100%. There is zero scheming going on, on our side of the call. Helton and Sherrer are pure garbage and I honestly am done with them both.
And don’t even get me started on how terrible JG is. That kid wouldn’t start for a single other SEC team.

Yall are freaking sad...
10 years from now you'll still be blaming a guy that doesnt coach.
This team is poorly prepared and in game adjustments are non existent
It’s hard to argue that we are better off at this point. And yes, JG is hot garbage.Better coached this year than last? I don’t care about the records, but this is garbage football 100%. Apparently they can't teach proper tackling for being a bunch of experienced coaches with championship rings. Makes me worried for next year.
Lol. What a stupid thing to say. So is teaching tackling part of player development or not? Guess they don't do tackling drills at the college level.Teach basic tackling? So wait a minute, is our team full of guys that have never played football? Because people have said time and time again that this team has 4 and 5* players everywhere. The tackling has been an issue for years. It was an issue last year. So tackling is a basic technique that is taught at every pee wee, middle and high school football program in the country. If you are a college football player, how is it that you sont know how to tackle properly? Thats not on our coaches.
It’s a choice between dumpster fire #1 or dumpster fire #2.Better coached this year than last? I don’t care about the records, but this is garbage football 100%. There is zero scheming going on, on our side of the call. Helton and Sherrer are pure garbage and I honestly am done with them both.

A fair point. It's still a stretch that we just missed on that many highly rated recruits. We saw good play, especially from the defense, at times this year. What the heck happend?like I said, tackling is taught at every single level of football from pee wee to college. How many upperclassmen do we have on defense? Tuttle? Taylor? Phillips? Bain? DK? Bituli? Buchanan? Osbourne? Warrior? Johnson? So if these guys have been going through tackling drills for the past 6-10 years and they still cannot do it, whose fault is that?
So serious question, at what point to you hold players accountable for their execution on the field?
