Yea that was part of the miracles.

However if their coach had just kicked the field goal, the one time…….Florida would have lost.

I mean seriously the last drive they wouldn’t have been messing around so much. When they got that close……they would have simply ran the clock down and kicked another field goal and won the game.

But again another part of those “miracles” Florida needed and got.

Maybe UF used up all their miracles for this season on Utah and won't have any left for TN this year. Lord knows they used a bunch of them on us over the years.

Both Florida and Georgia looked better than I expected. I still believe we beat Florida in a high score shootout and think we fight Georgia for a half until we lose by 2 score.

As the weeks progress I’ll re-evaluate.

I’ll also say this. We beat a team and beat them bad. Yes, we were supposed to. But, being honest, it’s been a while since we thumped a smaller team like that the way we should have.

That doesn’t mean we’re world beaters but it means we showed up and did our job.

I still see an 8-4 season. I’m curious to see LSU tonight. I hope I see a mess and then maybe it’s a 9-3 year.

Looks like the Sleestacks from Land of the Lost......

Nope. My picture is a Gorn from TOS, Kirk fought and beat it in a survival of the fittest battle. LOL lizards would barely register as a popcorn kernel snack to the Gorn.

4)Nico commits...Hype can recruit
5)Start of Second year ... We Back
6)After 1st Game.... Defence sucks,we can't run the ball

There is no point in crying and say we won't win because Florida and Georgia looked amazing yesterday.

Florida tends to own us because we NEVER have confidence as a fanbase and team against them. Our constant losses to them are actually inexplicable and embarrassing.

Georgia looks great but I think Oregon was setup with an ambush having to travel across the country into a high profile game with a new coach, players etc.

We are never going to get over losing if we don't have confidence and swagger.

Heupel feels different.

As long as we play these games, we have a shot to win. Sure, we need to be realistic in expectations but come on, I think we will beat Florida this year in Knoxville. I think we give Georgia problems. I know we don't have the talent yet that we want but we have talent and we have good players and coaches. Let's just sit back and try to have some fun and cheer on our team.

Let the schedule and record worry about itself.
I watched the better part of the UF game... they didn't look "amazing" unless you buy the Utah hype. The Utes melted in the humidity and were physically outmatched much of the time. They still rushed for over 200 and passed for over 200 with basically two decent receivers.

When UT gets the monkey off their back then the fans will feel more comfortable with the Florida game each year.

Agree, I think we win in a high scoring game. 48-31 or something like that

Agree but Banks has to do something radically different. They have to take a chance that UF will hit some vertical shots in exchange for taking away short stuff and crossing routes.... then making sure he doesn't have vertical running lanes.

It's one thing to be real and say another team is better, and we'll probably lose. It's a completely different thing for a couple of certain people to run around every single thread slobbering over how great Georgia and Florida is, and there's no way we'll ever win again. Constantly bashing our coach and players, while crowning Napier as the next Saban after one win. Not to mention, same ones said the same thing about muschamp, shark humper, and Mullen, and where are they? The real kicker, is those people get big mad if you say anything negative about Georgia, Florida, their coaches, or players, yet they're "Tennessee fans". I guaranteed one last night, even screenshot it, that they'd defend Florida if we beat them. Be real, heck, be negative, we all know we have issues with Florida especially, but don't constantly badh our program, and defend our rivals, then get mad if you start getting called on it. Better get off my soapbox now, but it's mind boggling.

Doesn't matter what Georgia or Florida did yesterday, only what they do against us.

Lots of bloviating going on.

How exactly did Florida look that great?

They gave up 25 first downs at 61.5%
They gave up 230 rushing at 5.9 per

Utah drove down the field at will on multiple occasions late and Utah simply made mistakes.

Not saying Florida isn’t good, but it certainly wasn’t like they were dominant…..it was game one, they needed and got miracles to win.
Florida is way better than we thought. A lot of people here are setting themselves up for a big let down.

Who's done any of that? Only thing i've seen is people admitting Florida is better than we thought. Haven't seen a single person talking about Napier being the next Saban. As overboard as the negas are, the sunshine pumpers are just as overboard.

It's unreal how lucky they've been against us. Some of it was self inflicted stupidity or just mental collapses from players or coaches , but from their perspective it was still a lot of luck. And help from blind zebras.

I say let Florida look good in every game they play, and then let our team make them look pedestrian. How's that for "swagger and confidence?"

And need some pissed off -hate filled safeties and linebackers to show up. Sitting on a zone and clipping their fingernails while they play pitch and catch all day will assure we'll have a bad day.

Banks has to decide whether to contain Richardson and let him dink and dunk or bring the pressure with the risk of him breaking off big runs or hitting downfield shots.

I’m not a coach and never claimed to be, but if I’m Banks I put an athletic LB on Richardson the whole time and let him have time to complete the short stuff

The lizard men may have a mental advantage over Vols fans, I doubt that's so for the team. They run out expecting to win and have said as much. I have the same attitude, nail-biting, defeatist whimper things got no place being anywhere near our Vols. Our men ain't scared of no dayum Gorns.

Some of these guys think Florida looked "great" because they had laughably convinced themselves during the off-season that Florida would be trash, so they overachieved in their eyes.

I'm not sure most Vol fans feel we CAN NOT beat Florida. My only take was the pre-season, pre-snap, pre-first game etc most on Volnation had Florida in the grave. Which was, and is, absolutely....well...silly. But VN has a tendency to be...well....silly! That was my take...not "woe is me...we can't possibly beat the Gators"...JMO

Imagine if this site existed in 1998, people would be melting down after we barely beat Syracuse and saying there’s no way we’d beat Florida.
Lol, you are right. I remember thinking exactly that after the game. "Man, that Florida game is going to be UGLY."

Never understood that line of thinking. Florida had a talented team that just quit on their head coach last year. Some left, but they still have talent and Napier is a good coach. I still think we have the advantage this year but they are likely to be a tough out.
