jsut wanted to say for anyone who doesnt know...that there is no clock operator, just a shot clock operator. the actual clock stops when the ref blows his/her whistle and their microphone picks up the whistle and sends a signal to a box that stops the clock. to start the clock, they have to push a button on their belt that sends a inaudible sound to the microphone and then that goes to the box and starts it. so it was nothin that we did on purpose b/c we thought we might lose....which i guess we should have but owell

I wish someone could somehow run the clock normally and see if the girl grabs Anosike by the shoulder before 0.0.

It's hard to say they were definetly screwed when you don't know if they foul did or didn't occur at .1 if the clock had run normally.
No it's not. They were screwed and that's ok.

Home cooking? She was fouled before time had run out, whistle stopped clock with .2 seconds. Tough break for Rutgers but where's the home cooking.
:cray:
Uh, how about this home cooking in this lady vols game? that .2 seconds lasted for a full second.

Intentional or not, UT was the benefactor of a glitch in the timing system. Is that so hard to admit?

Most often we complain when it happens to us. In this case it was for us.

Thank you very much.

Next game.

I personally feel that the WORLD is out to get the Rutgers Womens' Basketball team. Someone get Sharpton on the phone.

I read, and reread the article. Either it wasn't well written or I'm just slow. (wouldn't be the first time for either) The article insinuates that the clock stopped on the whistle (without further human interaction). Why did it restart?

I may be wrong. I just feel that it looks like we got a break. I also know we would all be screaming if the roles were reversed. Anyways, it's not very often that any call is made with .02 seconds left. It's usually over.

didn't have a problem with the pink at all.

the offensive display in the 2nd half was abysmal. our best play was getting fouled.

i thought bobbit's antics were ridiculous, and was glad to see pat do what she does when folks get out of line.

i will admit, on the last play, i though i heard a whistle and the clock stopped. i didn't realize the clock snaffoo until they showed the replay. but hey, it is called "hom court advantage" right?

the crazy thing was that on ESPN at about the same exact time, Villinova was getting jobbed out of win at G'town in similar fashion when they got called on the tickiest of fouls, and G'town got their W in controversial fashion as well.

trying to flip back and forth between those two games at the end was extremelyl difficult. crazy endings to both games.

The question was around why it stopped.

Amazingly it happened twice last night

The only thing I didn't like was that our arena was painted in the color of the visiting team.

Well we are the ones usually getting screwed by the refs so I think it was about time something went our way for once.

This is the only way to think about it. Sometimes the breaks go your way, sometimes they don't.

Go Lady Vols!

There is no clock operator in college basketball. Has not been for years....all the clocks are remotely operated by the refs....the clock stopped because he either buzzed it dead or blew the whistle. It did not start because the same ref did not hit the remote starter.......

Look up the details online at a number of sites.....or just go look at the scorer's table.....

That was wild, that really stole the game from ol' Rutgers. They should be steamed!

To me, the question isn't about the clock, it is about the cheap foul that led to a situation. In NO WAY was that a good idea, or a sportsman like play to drag a player to the ground.

well for starters, you dont pay for something that is donated lol. A donation requires no cost. That is what doesn't make sense:thumbsup:

I think the #1 item on the agenda of this cause is breast cancer AWARENESS....this was an excellent platform to get the message accross....the main goal is to get women to get breast exams on a regular basis....the # 1 concern is not raising money but to save lives by getting regular breast exams...so orange can take a backseat for one night...GO VOLS!

I don't think I have ever seen our fans get so incensed about a questionable call that went in our favor.
