Oklahoma was a “dream school” for Jenks (Okla.) four-star running back Kaydin Jones growing up. He has a family connection to the Sooners, as his father – Kejuan Jones – was a tailback in Norman from 2002-05.

Jones is still very interested in Oklahoma, along with Louisville, Michigan State, Oregon and Tennessee among other programs. The 6-foot-0, 170-pound recruit most recently visited the Sooners on April 20, the Volunteers on April 13 and the Cardinals on April 12. He has also been to Oklahoma State and Texas Tech.
Tennessee: “I like their coaches and their hospitality… You know their offense and they’re a heavily known program. They’re in the SEC and that’s what I like about them a lot.”

No clue if we try to get involved but another RB target that is back on the market. Looks like he never made it to campus this year but we did make his top 5 schools.

He's an Oklahoma legacy and has visited there 11 times so if they come calling he likely ends up in Norman.

Maybe we could get him to set up a visit for when we spank the Sooners in Neyland though

We’re deep at RB assuming Bishop, Lewis, and Morris return. Hadn’t heard much from Baker yet but he seemed like a good prospect coming out of HS. Tough room to come into unless you’re elite.

He's a freaking stud, but don't think he would be the RB they would flip. Not sure where he goes. Oklahoma State made sure to not let him go to Vanderbilt but they got two backs already. OU might just take him but Idk what their RB situation is like. Kid is a stud tho

If he’s a stud then OU would have taken him - amirite?

We are set at rb for 2026 DGG.

Soon.

Kidding. Sort of. But if no dgg reclassification this would be a good consolation prize for the class after missing on hiter.

I would rather have Latimer but he seems more solid to Wisconsin than I thought, especially considering they look bad. Seems like staff likes the RB room enough to not take one from the HS class.

Also would rather have latimer. But would it be better to skip an rb this class or take jones if that’s the option?

I think we are likely to double up out of hs next year (dgg and Robinson) given the success we’ve proven running the football and the inherent risk that one of our current 5 could transfer out.

I think portal for experience is the path forward for that RB slot. Too much young talent in our room already, go get another Star Thomas this winter and double down on ‘27 RBs.
Agree.

I'm concerned that Peyton Lewis may transfer. If he does, we need a guy who can play right away...like you said, another Star Thomas.

Why are you concerned he would transfer?
Because he was a highly rated recruit and he would be entering his 3rd season having never been higher than 3rd string. And I think his share of carries is about to go down.

I’m not saying it would be smart, especially with Thomas moving on, but with the way kids transfer these days, it’s a concern.

Agreed. He still has a lot of improvement to do what is expected of him. Hit the right hole harder and little better pass pro.

He started the year second string
