LOL That is actually just funny you think OU is going somewhere or that we are at a disadvantage in any way. tell you what ill come back here after we clownstomp you like last year and get your opinion on the direction of Oklahoma football.
This game is way more important to OU than Tennessee. Our program won't be defined by what happens Saturday night. Stoops needs this game to shape the narrative for his program, CBJ does not.
Sounds like the fans are just as brash and arrogant as the coach and players at Oklahoma. Please come back for your humble pie next week.
You are literally the only person here who thinks that. in fact theres multiple threads on this site that state how important this game is to TN. You see we won all 4 BCS bowls in the last decade and won a sugar bowl less than two years ago. TN on the other hand has not beaten a ranked team at home since what? 2007????? I think everybody here and in the nation is tired of hearing "this is our year" and " we are BACK" from TN its time to show it on the field. Like I said Ill be back here Saturday evening...will you?

I find it hilarious that TxA&M came into the "vaunted" SEC with an entire roster full of existing Big 12 kids, including a RS Johnny Manziel(a lowly 3-star Big 12 recruit) and immediately had monster success. Not gonna lie, even us Big 12 ppl bought into the hype a bit thinking the SEC was really an untouchable division. But not after that....
Then Mizzou playing their gimmicky Big 12 offense made it to the SEC title game the following year, led by a BACKUP qb, again with a roster of 75% EXISTING Big 12 players/recruits.
Yet neither of these schools could even make Big 12 title games.
I'm not a conference pumper like many of you SEC folk, but the Big 12, in case you forgot, routinely kept 3-5 teams in the top 10 polls in the mid-late 00 seasons. Mizzou, OU, Tex, OSU, A&M, KSU....all were successful. Even in it's temporary state, the only true weak links are ISU and Kansas. There's 8 outta 10 teams(maybe not Tech) in this conf who can talent-wise line up with anyone on any Saturday.
OU went into the Superdome and beat Alabama. Then TCU flat dismantled Ole Miss in front of an SEC crowd. Worst ass whippin i've seen in a few years.
You're drinking the kool-aid heavy, but consider that most of these kids are all recruited by every conference. They can go anywhere they choose, and they don't automatically become stars by going to the SEC. Now I'm not saying we'll win or lose this Sat., but your "big boy football" rhetoric is laughable anymore.
We play college football.
OU has only been in the same conference as texas recently and the BIG 12 was easily just as good as the SEC until about 2010. OU is still the top program all time according to your media darling ESPN. Even they cannot deny the overall domination OU has had on the sport of football.
You're showing your age and immaturity. OU & TX was in the Southwest Conference FOREVER before the big12 was formed.
Historically, OU has had a good program for a long time and so has Texas but all schools goes through a period of down times, TX before Mac Brown then eventually it went down, Tennessee when Fulmer got lazy, Bama went through several coaches including franchioni (spell) (now at TX State) before getting smart and hiring Satan, er I mean Saban. We're just now getting back on our feet after our last 2 coaching debacles. Most folks think we're still a year away, but we all are hoping Jones can turn the corner this year. Last year, who else in college football had to replace their entire offensive & defensive lines--noone. In the SEC, aside from Vandy, we beat each other up every week. Those that survive usually go to the NC game. OU make think they will run away with it this year over the VOLS but this is not the team from last year. I want to see OU stop our run game. Magit & Barnett will live in your backfield. Hurd will lay the wood to Striker this year. We're still a young team but don't take that as a weak team. I'm sure it will be a great game but you're in our house now and Smoky will be biting that Azz!

Are you kidding me? The HUNH offense your refferring to is the same thing as what OU started in 1999. Dont try to pretend we are talking about different things. We all know what the HUNH means in college football and NOBODY nobody ran until after 99. Kentucky doesnt count.
Good post I like the enthusiasm. I think the game will go much differently and even bamas all American line and RBs couldn't stop striker so idk. Also OU has a very good run defense so check that out. Oh and OU was a charter member of the big 8 and not in the same conference as UT before the big 12. Maybe your showing your age with that foggy memory![]()
That memory is getting somewhat foggy I'll admit and not the statistician that a lot of folks are on here. Good to have playmakers like Striker for sure just think we're more prepared and better stocked talent-wise than last year. So make your prediction. I say VOLS by 14 but would gladly take a 1 point victory. LOL.
