Its time to stop with the negativity. Its time to stop with the coach bashing. Its time to stop with the player bashing. Its time to stop with the AD bashing.....

GIVE IT A FREAKING REST PLEASE!!!!

I have been a Vol fan for well over 35 years. Growing up in KnoxVegas it was hard not to be a Vol fan. Listening to John Ward on the radio was the highlight of the week. Condredge Holloway was like Superman to me. I still get goosebumps walking into Neyland Stadium and when the Vols run through the T.

Yes, it sucks to Lose. I hate it and it puts me in a bad mood usually for several days at a time. But at the end of the day, this is OUR football team. Butch Jones is OUR coach. We have to support them especially in these rough patches. They know they should be 5-0. Don't you think it chaps their @$$ the way it chaps ours?

Here is my take on the Big Picture....I will NEVER ever pull for another college football team...Tennessee will be my team until the day I am planted. I would love to be 5-0 but we ain't. I would rather be 2-3 and be a Vol fan than be 4-1 and be a UGA fan or be a Gator fan @ 5-0.

I truly believe that the Vols will beat UGA on Saturday and will watch the game and cheer for them regardless of the outcome. If you cannot do that, then turn in your freakin VFL card. GO VOLS!!

No, I support the program. If the coach is a detriment to the program, then he doesn't need to be supported, he needs to be replaced with someone who will make the program better. Jones is temporary, the program is permanent.

I'm never a fan of these "rah-rah" threads and you will get flamed. But you don't deserve it. I'm fed up with the negativity, too. It's almost as if college athletics is the only thing some people have in their lives. And yeah, I realize this is a message board but the extreme some people take it...my God.

I didn't grow up in Knoxville, the only football I followed was the one I was chasing on the field, until my older brother enrolled at UTK back in 1984. From there it's been a blast. Wins and loses, but mostly the wins. I have a great appreciation for OP and what he is getting at. The only problem is that I've got some sense, there are so many on this site that appear to have very little. I did say some sense for me and appear for them, lots of room to wiggle. I did catch today's press conference, Butch is in command of what he is saying, I like that. He is still speaking to the players and coaches, just like he needs to be, but that will not satisfy the media or some of the fans. It time to move on to Georgia.

A good analysis on the whole thing was made by Alex Scarborough in a blog on ESPN. Both he and Musberger say that the main problem is that way too much was expected of this team than was realistic.

Sure, coaching mistakes have been made, but the main problem is, this is just not the Vols' year--they're still too young across the board.

Jones tried to pump the breaks on fan enthusiasm before the year, but media hype just kept building it up beyond what was really going to happen.

Nonsense. this team was in position to be a SOLID 4-1, and it was pissed away. Plain and simple.

You think it's bad now. Wait until UGA and Bama games are in the books.

...And, heaven help this lovely board IF we drop either of the Mizzu, USC, or Vandy games.

This. It's not a difficult concept.

it's never not awkward when a poster tells me to accept mediocrity or worse.

While this season hasn't gone as hoped, I'd still like to go win a bowl game... this negativity does bleed from fans to players. The players need our support, we can still win a bunch of games this year.

Do I want better than we've seen? Sure.

But I don't want our program imploding either.

THANK YOU!!!! Should this team be 5-0 or 4-1, yes!!! But that should not have been the expectation. Everyone knows the issues with depth, throw in injuries and this team is gassed in the 4th quarter. The only 2 places there is solid depth is RB and WR. Any team with 2 solid backs is in pretty good shape plus there are 25 WRs. I'm sick of losing but not that surprised

That is a very good analysis. Long before the season I was thinking a good regular season would be 7, maybe 8 wins, and that is still possible. However, I let myself get caught up in the hype so these 3 losses have stung really bad, especially FL. I've been a VFL for 63 years, and I'll be one to the end. I'll support this team and staff this season and on-going. I really hope Butch turns it around because he appreciates the history of UT football and he really wants to get us back. Only time will tell, but I'll continue rolling with the Vols. GO BIG ORANGE!!!
