Who are you going to replace him with? Have we not been down this road before? This program once could have gotten most any coach out there but those days are gone. All the good ones are taken or wouldn't want the pressure of this. It is pressure! Yes the talent is better but after dropping Butch you will lose some of it and lose much of our next year's crop. It's easy to always scream fire. But, who do you get?

I'll add this to my favorite tab along with the 30 other posts asking the same thing. Surely someone will have an answer in one of them.

You start with the AD before you move on to Butch. This starts at the top and no Coach is going to want to work for Hart. Dave Harts career is on life support and he knows it. And Butch knows he's on notice but I dont think Butch will be gone until next year.

We're going to get another Butch Jones Derek Dooley type as long as Hart is making the hire. Either way it doesn't matter. It's time to make the change.

Our football program is in shambles again. This is unbelievable. Hart and Jones more or less = Hamilton and Kiffin/Dooley. How long will this last? This has to end sometime, doesn't it?

It's easy to point at a coach and then an AD. It's easy to scream clean house. But, we can recruit. That's a huge first step! Doubt you will find another better out there right now. You can surround a weak link with great assistants if out there. Doing that is easier on the program than taking the head off of it. If you clean house you are rock bottom once again. Rolling the dice and hoping for the best, years of waiting again for sure and then probably a similar result. We give players time to adjust and get better. This coach is just now getting talent enough to compete so don't we need to give him more time and not crush the program once again? Maybe the AD is not as much of a problem when hiring maybe it's UT as a whole including some of the fan base. I really don't know the true answer but starting a new foundation over and over seems to not the the correct one.

I agree with this. Hart is the one who shackled us to Jones with that raise and extension. It's time for us to clan up and get another UTK person as AD. Whether it's Phil or someone else, we need to get someone in there who has more fan and booster support than the head football coach.

6-6 at best this year, Butch stays and will probably squeak out 7 wins next year then he's headed back to the MAC. At that point there's no telling who will be available but it needs to be a proven recruiter and winner at a top tier program. Easier said than done though.

It seems to have worked for Florida. I doubt Jones goes anywhere due to his buyout and I'm sure Jones knows this, which is why we will probably see him turn defiant and refuse to fire the guys that he brought here. I hope that he can keep up the recruiting momentum but I wonder how hard he's going to get after it if it looks like he's on borrowed time?

Yeah, good call. Bad hires are definitely on the fan base.

I imagine the typical coaching search conversation goes like this:

Hart: hi, potential coaching hire! I'm Dave Hart - life long Alabama fan who was fired from his last AD job. Have I mentioned that I don't like to spend money?

Potential coach: ooh, where do I sign up?

Hart: well, I should tell you that you'll probably have 102k fans show up to your games to cheer for you.

Potential coach: oh no! That's awful! Forget it.

If you fire Jones, the talent transfers or declares. Simple, most of them wouldn't be at Tennessee if Jones isn't here. Fact, you could tell the boos bothered this team at half tied 17-17. Which I don't get truly, we have a team of freshmen and sophomore and you clowns boo them ? It's disgusting and you should have your tickets revoked. Its obvious we are clearly handicapped on the defense, we can't throw the ball all we have is Hurd and Dobbs legs. Then you ***** because we do what works and complain about play calling. And anyone throwing anything on the field should be arrested, followed by if a season ticket holder stripped of the privilege of purchasing.

IMO these people need to go first. Jimmy Cheek, Dave Hart and Susan Martin. Fill those spots with people who actually care about UT Charles Davis and David Blackburn come to mind. Then the following year after you have all tbe boosters on the same page thats when you ax worthless Coach 24. Then with everyone united you go get a home run hire, invest in the football program and everything will fix itself.

Im just not sure this fan base can tolerate another year of Coach 24 and his stupid gicks and gimmicks.

Butch ain't going anywhere yet, but the UCONN head coach is bigtime and he'll go to a bigger school much sooner than later, but can he recruit in the south?

Hey sheep how many transferred last year and Jones is still here? I recall a few big time contributers walking out. When are you going to stop the Coach Worship? These players know they're being cheated and their body language showed that. Same arguments when Dooley was here, all the players will leave, what about recruiting OMG who are we going to get. Instead of worrying about fans being pissed off why don't you worry about following Botch to his next stop in the MAC since you wanna pray at his feet.

Those players know good and damn well who was being booed. If they don't ill give them a clue, its that duma$$ with the flat top hair cut.

I don't have a sure fire solution, but I do know that having competent people to work the problem is key. Right now we don't have competent people in place, both butch and hart have demonstrated that. Tennessee is recruiting well now but it will not endure. Holding on to something that isn't working and hoping that someday it will is just plain foolish.

There's a good chance just as many transfer or declare if we keep him. And we'll certainly see recruiting fall off.

Doesn't really matter anyway. What good is talent if the coach can't do anything with it?

I don't buy there are no really good coaches out there. How did Florida find theirs? When we started this mess I wanted Brian Kelly, I still think it would have been a better choice. Also I was totally against Dave Hart from day one. Why in the hell would we want sloppy Bama seconds?

Butch and his tale is easy to predict. We've no significant wins thus far in his career (South Carolina, Smouth Carolina, who the hell cares?). He has four egregious losses [Florida 14 & 15, UO this year & Vandy 2013]. Blew a 14 point lead yet AGAIN night. Georgia & Bama coming up. We still will probably finish 7-5 after these next two losses. Win a bs bowl for 8 wins. Butch will claim progress and the sheep believe him.
See you in 2016.
