Oil Rig Explosion

Yep, I was surprised too. It was fascinating stuff. Best inside information this board has ever seen - except for the "I heard Jon Gruden was buying property in..." stuff.

Wonder if he was caught or maybe just some new rules came down.

Excellent quote there.. almost shot my drink through my nose onto my laptop. So, to clear things up - I'm actually at home now and quit posting right before I left. I'd been offshore for about eight weeks and needed a break. I think I've spent a total of 40 days on the beach so far this year.

As far as gag orders go - I've never been told by anyone to not write about this stuff. For obvious reasons - I can't attach procedures or things like that. But, nothing I wrote wasn't going to be public knowledge anyway. My musings just had a bit of a twist to them.

FWIW, I bought about 150 acres outside of Knoxville last year. We finally sold our West Knox home about a month ago and we've been moving since the day I stepped in the door. I'll have about three weeks off and then I'm back out to the fray. I hope I can bring some more info to the board then. Until then, I don't know much more than you (well... other than I still see the 24 hour schedules, know which boats are going where, the helicopter schedules, how many people are on each ship, etc)... :)

Thanks for all the info.

About your edit; I too can't spell and my prodigeous amount of typos probably date to the reason I took typing in high school; there were lots of girls in typing class, almost took home ec but chickened out, heck I might have been a great chef.

good luck with the move, and thanks for all your efforts in trying to stop the spill

you looking at coaching the Vols?

Probably in about 2 to 3 years... if only the job was open...

I heard his wife was a cheerleader and loves the vols.

EDIT: confirmed on TOS.

Two things wrong with that statement... One, her boobs are too big to be a cheerleader. Two, she's an LSU fan (which was easy to ignore because of number one).

Love it OT, Congrats on the purchase...

Question... any chance that the Relief Well(s) wont work? And we will have to wait (years) till it runs out? I am looking at property near destin, and I dont want to waste my time looking if this could take years to stop.

If you don't mind holding on to it for 20 years and can buy it low now, it could really be a great deal.

That leak will be stopped eventually. Almost certainly by December, and probably much sooner.

Honestly I dont have a lot of confidence in BP to stop it. Its obviously a massive reserve with huge pressure.

The cap is off after an ROV bumped into it and damaged it. The well is rolling right now

and Fox news is reporting that 2 clean up crewman have died

Americans have complained for years about the price of oil, now its washing up on the shores like manna from heaven and we complain.
