I think it would be great if our band would start doing like Ohio's band did. Actually, what their band was doing is very hard to teach. It looks fun and is entertaining, but is really very difficult. They're called a high step band if I'm not mistaking. I think it looks really great!

I'm glad you have no power over our band. It would be a shame to watch our band become a mockery.
Yes we do a guest show every year. And yes, every year, it blows. It blew with Kenny Rogers. It blew with Patti Page. It will continue to blow.
But no show band like this could ever do Circle Drill. Not if they worked on it as their only show all season.
Actually I saw a video of them on youtube and they were doing a circle drill. Are you in the band? I love our band, but just think it would be very unique for us to be the only band doing this type of marching in the sec. And no, I don't think the quest show our band does every year "blows". I think the older generation enjoyed the one this past Saturday more than the younger people did obviously, but still, Patti Page was very popular back during her time. In fact, I'm surprised that this was the first time she has been to a game since she recorded "The Tennessee Waltz" back many years ago.
I put in my 4 years, therefor I am in a position to know what I'm talking about.
Bands like that play half the time they're on the field.
They have an instrument, but they run on the field without playing, they run around without playing, they bone each other without playing, and they run off the field without playing. The impressive parts of their show are done with nothing but a drum break.
There's nothing impressive about that. Oh sure, they played while they went from 1 set to another, but that was about it. They ran out, planted, and played.
I, for one, was ashamed they were allowed to visually defecate Shields-Watkins Field.
It was more entertaining than the product yall put out. If you want to hear musicians playing in perfect harmony, go see the orchestra. Otherwise, pipe down. We just want to see a good show. Ohio gave us one, Tennessee did not.

I would much rather have a band lead organized songs to get the crowd singing while we're on offense. That's much better
The Ohio band was definately entertaining.. I didn't care much for their song selections at halftime, but the show itself was pretty good. The Pride's halftime show was pretty bad. I'm sure they all played their instruments well, but my god. A guy on the locker room on WVLT-2 pretty much hit the nail on the head. "We're trying to turn this place into somewhere everyone is scared to play and they're out there singing about a doggie in a window."

IMO, there is no better field band in college football than The Pride Of The Southland Marching Band. It is the crown-jewel of the Neyland experience.I put in my 4 years, therefor I am in a position to know what I'm talking about.
