I'll start by calling the kettle black;

  • Hardesty and Brown each rush for more than 100 yards this Saturday

Now for the rest:

  • JC throws 2 INTs, yet stays in the game.
  • EB has 1 INT
  • UT 45 OU 9
  • JJ has 1 INT
  • Nuke has 3 receptions for 70 yards and his first TD

Crompton will throw 2TDs and 1 INT.

Berry will have 2 INT's.

Hardest rushes for 175 yds

I don't think it, but I'm afraid that the team will come out flat for this one. That game last week was almost bigger than life, and it's hard to get up for games every week. The score may be what you say, but to the fans, it'll seem a lot closer than that.

I just wanna see a big win. You keep hoping every big play will be the play that gets a Confident and Competent Crompton back. Maybe it's possible. I don't expect much out of Crompton, I just want him to be efficient. Don't put the game on your shoulders, but dag nab it, quit throwing a bazillion picks! That's all we want!

Agreed, Nuke gets his first TD.
One of the veteran receivers (Moore, Jones, Warren) steps up with a big game.
Hardesty goes for 140, Brown 100 and Oku and Poole each break a big gain late in the game.
Crompton 15 24 2 tds 1 int

Vols 45 - 10

35 -10 vols
crompton 18 of 25 180 yds
280 yds on the ground, hardesty and brown break 100, Oku will throw halfback pass to nuke

Ohio will score in third quarter after Crompton throw INT

Although hoping to match Ala vs North Texas score 56 -0

UT 42 Ohio 6

Crompton once again turns the weather vane fans with a good performance... and maybe gets his first INT free game this year. Moore and Jones get back into the groove and one of the background WR's breaks out (Warren, Rogers?)

I'd like to see Nuke get going but he doesn't seem to be mentally up to the speed of the game yet. I believe he has tremendous physical speed and quickness but somehow he isn't reading his opportunities quickly enough to take advantage of them.

All of this is a learning and growing process. I expect UT to get better every game because of the way these guys coach. They're still developing an identity and learning how to actually "play" together. It is really hard to describe unless you've played for a good coach and experienced what I'm talking about. Things that were once deficiencies are recognized and worked at until the improvement becomes automatic. You begin to just "know" what the guy beside you is going to do.

I don't think UT's O has gotten there primarily because everything is still new with all the changes and new system. It comes alot slower for the O because of everything that has to be learned. UT's D is much further down the road in part because of talent and leadership but in part because there's less of an adjustment.

I think few would argue that UT played better against UF than UCLA. I expect them to play better still this week and each week thereafter peaking with a Bowl win.

Easy boys. This year promises to be a roller coaster. Remember UCLA? I feel uneasy talking about a beatdown. Let's hope we win. To put it in Kiffin's words..."We're just not that good yet."

i hope Crompton throws three picks and is yanked...Stephens steps in and takes control 3 tds and establishes himself as THE QB1....wishful thinking, i know...

Any word if CLK plans on resting any of the OL? I know they were pretty banged up against Florida and we have very important 3 game stretch after Ohio.

Why would you hope for that?? Do you honestly want Crompton to fail?

Fans like you give give Bama and Gator fans credibility.

40-10 Vols.

One early field goal from them followed by one late td when Monte puts the backups in for mop up.

I suck at stats, but Im guessing the run game will be as strong as it was for week one.

You guys are crazy. Ohio has a solid head coach in Frank Solich, almost beat Ohio State last year, and they aren't Western Kentucky. This Ohio team has an outside shot at winning the MAC East this year.
I'm thinking 24-6 Vols.

Yup, if the offense struggles look for a game similar to UCLA where it comes down to who struggles the least.

I want to see the same effort, good game plan, and enthusiasm as last Sat. From that we should win and the score will show that.

It won't be that close IMO. Ohio barely beat North Texas in OT a few weeks ago, the same team that Bama killed last week. Not saying it will be a cake walk, just don't give them too much hope against our Vols.

Ohio's horrible run defense will be the key stat. We will have our way with them. The only thing that can kill us is mistakes on the field.
