So I was playing COD4 tonight and towards the end of the game, my XBOX all these vertical green lines showed up (looked like the matrix) and I couldn't see much of anything. I tried to restart and I'm getting 1/4 of the red ring (bottom right corner) and a message saying contact customer support.

Anyone ever dealt with this or know what it is?? :cray:

That's what happened to mine at first. If you send it in Monday you might have it back by next Monday. They give you the option to buy the box and packing materials and they buy both the labels to and back. Sorry OWB, that sucks. :cray:

Well the first two days I had my Xbox 360, my friend dripped it from his window because it did not turn on for him ( because it was not pluged in) but besides that, My COD4 never have gave me problems.

Man I :cray: for you....

OWB, I wouldn't worry too much about it. It happend to me about 6 months ago, & I haven't had the RRoD yet. You could send it in, or just wait until you get the RRoD to send it in. That is what I'm doing. Hopefully I'll never get it. :crossfingers:

I really can't wait considering it's hard to see what I'm doing when I play. So, I guess I'll just bite the bullet and send it in. I'm pretty busy here at the end of the month anyway..

You must have had something a little more serious than what happend to mine.

MY 360 still runs perfectly fine. :whistling: :)

It actually happens to me a couple times a week. I do the towel trick for 10-15 minutes until I get the two overheating flashing lights on the left side, let it cool down and then it's back to normal. Very annoying.

It's been happening for about 4 months. If it would just quit fixing itself, I'd send it in, but I always get it back working relatively easy.

If it's an E74, I think it's a scaler chip problem. If you don't want to do the towel trick, you'll have to send it in, but I've heard that this isn't covered under the 3 year warranty, so you'll probably have to pay for the repairs.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Yeah I sent mine in on a Tuesday and I got mine back on the Wednesday of the next week. They will send you an email with the UPS label and all you have to do is print it out and take it to them, then buy the packing materials and your set. Cost me $9.10 at Staples.

After hearing about all of the RROD, I bought the cooling fan for the back of mine. I figure what is $20 to save all of the headaches and trouble. No problems so far. (Knock on wood.)

Pretty sure those fans have never been proven to help that much. I've had two different friends who got RRoD faster than I did and they had fans on from day 1 of purchase. I got through about 3 years or so without any problems and not using a fan until I got RRoD. But...whatever helps you sleep at night :)

That's interesting since the 360 won't be 3 years old until November...

Just pointing out the discrepancy... I know memory can be fleeting and we often just throw something out there.

Thanks rwemyss. I'll make sure I never post again without doing the proper research before hand. This will be a day of infamy that I will never forget.
