Oh how I wish we had Coach Cutt!!

In all fairness, Duke hasn't had a 6 win season in 17 years (and he won 5 last year). In his 2 seasons he gave Duke their best 2 seasons of the decade.

I would take Cutcliffe as an assistant. HC at Tennessee? You are out of your mind.

This. How quickly we forget what Cut did for our offense while he was here...

JMO but do you guys think we would be better with Coach Cuttcliffe?

it depends. As a QB coach, or maybe asst. offensive coordinator, yes/ well maybe.

As a HC, hahahahaha! no we arent Duke, we are the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE BEEATCHES!

Cut is just one of those guys who is a better position/coordinator coach then head coach. If he leaves Duke and continues to coach his next stop may be QB coach or O-coordinator in a desperate NFL team. See Charlie Weis (although it seems to be working out so far in Kansas City).

I think the Vols would be better with Cutcliffe.......If they were in the funeral home business....other than that I'll stick with Dooley and Co.

What did he win at Ole Miss? You need to go ahead and give up this crazy idea of Cut being the head coach at Tennessee.

Just a share of the western divisional title in 03 with the national champions LSU. Let's see.... One coach has a below .500 record at La Tech. The other an above .600 in the sec. Obviously Dooley was the better choice

And NE, they kind of had a dynasty.

This post, all by itself, saved me from reading any of the rest of this thread.

For starters, you mispelled the name...

Secondly, anyone...Vol fan or not...who honestly believes that (ask Mississippi and Duke fans)...has completely lost sight of the fact that a sharp OC does not necessarily translate to a good HC.

Again, just ask the folks at Ole Miss and Duke.

Cutcliff (yes, that's how it's spelled) was, and maybe is, a good OC. A head coach he is not.

It is what it is. Some of us were just born to be wingmen.

Go Vols.

coaching wise yes...recruiting wise...i dont think so...

anyone who says cutt isint a offensive guru is a idiot who just wants to rag on ANYHTHING from the past...if you haters remeber when he took over in 06 we beat cal and where on our way back...in 07 we went to the sec championship and about won...

It ain't Chaney's fault we are skimpy on talent and experience and an offensive line.

Chaney knows what he is doing. Heard of Orton or Drew Brees?

what is Cuts overall body of work? I think it is less than .500 at Duke.

Naw...Cutt is not the answer. 2 more recruiting classes and this staff will bring the Vols back.
