You can never have enough quality OL. Especially in pass protection as evidenced this year. My only issue is he has just one year of eligibility. Can he play tackle? Do we really need another guard when we have Karic and Moe's? Easiest position to fill on the o-line.
The fact that he only has one year also speaks to the way the staff feels about the younger OL. They don’t want to start guys like Ginther, Anderson, and Perry as RSFr., but they aren’t blocking a path to starting them as RSSo.You can never have enough quality OL. As I said before, we will know how the staff feels about the younger OL by what they do in the portal. Apparently, we need immediate help, especially at IOL and pass protection. We pursued the kid from NW, Moe, and now Pregnon. Speaks volumes.

They’re high on those guys’ ceilings. They’re just young right now. You don’t want to have to rely on a bunch of freshmen and sophomore on the OL.
The OL recruiting wasn’t good until the 2024 class. I still think Sham and LJ3 can be solid contributors, but Grant and Reddick are busts. I expect they’ll leave after spring. Don’t know about Bussell. Heard some good things about him last spring, but nothing this past fall. Duncan only switched to OL last spring after redshirting in 2023, so I wouldn’t pass judgment on him yet.Maybe, but Johnson III, Reddick, and Grant will be RS Juniors. Umarov, Bussell, and Duncan have been in the system for two years. I'll give you Satterwhite, Anderson, Ginther, and Perry. Although Satterwhite will probably start at C this year. They were, however, early enrollees. It's time some of these guys step up and contribute.
I like CJH, but let's face it. The glaring reality is that no Heupel/Elarbee high school OL signee has made an impact at UT. This staff has consistently brought in transfers and JUCO players. If that's your plan, and it works, that's great. But let's not assume we're sitting on a bunch of young talent that just isn't ready.
Ok ill un lurk for this one.The fact that he only has one year also speaks to the way the staff feels about the younger OL. They don’t want to start guys like Ginther, Anderson, and Perry as RSFr., but they aren’t blocking a path to starting them as RSSo.

Likely starting a RSFr at C and a true freshman at RT. How many freshmen do you want starting along the OL?Ok ill un lurk for this one.
At some point they have to play them, period. Other teams do this regularly. Based on what To me, having seen what separates us vs top 5, is speed, line talent, and play calling.
Until our court case against the NCAA, the staff has been recruiting under a cloud of threats and negative recruiting. Even since then, they have been recruiting under restrictions. I suspect they've had problems getting the level of talent they actually want. The OL recruiting wasn’t good until the 2024 class. I think the young guys who will start this season are Satterwhite and Sanders. That’s a freshman and RSFr. Sham could win a starting job, but if he doesn’t, he’ll be a valuable reserve.
I would agree, for the most part. Although they recruited other positions fairly well during that span. But the OL recruiting problem was addressed with the 2024 and 2025 classes. Got two good ones for 2026 already.Until our court case against the NCAA, the staff has been recruiting under a cloud of threats and negative recruiting. With 3 years of slow recruiting, you can only basically patch that through the portal, now that the staff has proven themselves and shown recruits that they can come here to a successful program that's competing for championships.
This has likely been a temporary issue, and the staff will likely not have to follow this way of doing business for much longer.
It's also not likely a reflection of their evaluation, recruiting, or development skills. It's likely just a reflection of them playing the hand they were dealt when they took the job.
Ohio states line has been bad all season. Like us, they have been calling for their OL coaches head and recruiting in that area has been sup par for a few years. They have been serviceable in playoffs but are winning with elite playmakers and really good playcalling.Ok ill un lurk for this one.

This is spot on. With the probation restrictions, the OL recruiting was tough. I understand the concerns with Glenn BUT I would wait and see what happens with these last two classes with development. The OL recruiting wasn’t good until the 2024 class.
