This. Kirk thought the same.
Well judging by that pic, by the time his foot would have hit the ball the fourth guy from the bottom would easily be across the 35.
We played a good game there at the end. If only the OC would have made the adjustments at half that he made at the end of the game we could have easily won. But he didn't and we kept on running plays that developed too slow and Dobbs didn't have time to think so......
Why even review illegal touching if we was offsides in the first place? Seems they should have just said, offsides lets re-kick.
They did not call offsides after the review. Flag for offsides was thrown on original play. But the illegeal touch was announced by the official because that was the penalty that would be accepted by Mizzou. Offsides without illegeal touching would have resulted in another kick. Flag was thrown for offsides BEFORE the replay.
Honestly, we should not have been in a position to be ONSIDE KICKING! We had great field position all night but could not do crap with the ball. The onside kick is irrelevant but I agree with you on the call.
The Refs blew the call. First the flag was thrown for offsides. I didn't see a second flag for what they called which was illegal touching. When he anounces the illegal touching he didn't say two penalties he just said illegal touching with only one flag that I could see from my seat. Both appear to have been wrong.
On the second one the ball clearly didn't go 10 yards so no idea why we chalenge it. Because that TO was our only chance to get the ball back.
Bottom line is we played conservative football and it cost us. I assume it's because we have lost so many starters he just played it close to the vest. Another one that got away.

Even the retired referee talking head that was explaining the rule mentioned that the offsides was not the call under review.
I just don't get how you can't review an offside on a kickoff it's a clear line striped all the way across the field
