Logical because this no doubt will be a adjustment growing pains season.
Vols can make a bowl game with 6 possibly 7 wins except being a great top 10 team is highly unlikely because Vols have a tough schedule including as usual the brilliant Mastermind Nick Saban with his Juggernaut Crimson Tide, Florida, Georgia, etc.

if I'm wrong about that I'll be damn joyful the whole Vols won't be a top 10 team this season.

When vol fans experience something unbearable again, like your QB has peed on the floor, or threw an interception, or defense didn’t tackle when you asked him to — vol fans bump up against their threshold. Then, many fans go into this cascade of worry and anger. Every little dark spot in our lives gets blown up and exacerbated in our minds, and we go into survival mode. The mental gymnastics begin: I have a terrible team; I must be a terrible vol fan. Our sense of self is in peril, and we go into fight, flight, or freeze mode.
If we go into fight mode, (which is usually what I do) we become enraged and we do what every other mammal does, we lash out — yelling, hitting, or dragging the TV to time-out. (Dogs growl and bark.)
After we’ve exploded, we feel as if, okay, at least we’ve done something...

I like how so many on here have already determined a 6 or 7 win year. the truth of the matter is we have no idea what there gonna do. Give it chance before we write them off to the music city bowl.

Lets not go too far. One young man does not make a team or program. As close as you can come to this is remembered in the names Manning, Majors, The General and others. However, they are just blocks in the foundation of a long lasting and famed program . Hopefully this young man can become what they are and have been.

Doug Dickey was an example of one man who remade the Tennessee football program when it was pretty much dead in the water 1958-1963.

I agree with you except it's dull and boring if you have no predictions for a team before the season starts.

The great fun of making a record prediction about a team or teams is seeing if those predictions are right or wrong.
NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS predictions including playoffs and which team wins the Championship involves multiple teams.

Grier getting pumped for Heisman and media saying the Vols are displaying confidence. I'd rather the Vols go unnoticed and be huge underdogs. If it doesn't rain then it'll be hot with high humidity. The Vols have better depth and if we hang close for 3 qtrs. I believe we'll be better conditioned.

You get to brag about being right including to the doubters which could be MVP Podcasts, BleacherReport, The Sports Fury, ESPN, and other networks,channels, Pro Analysts, or companies that make season predictions, along with friends, etc.
