My daughters are going to their first game today. They got up at the crack of dawn, got dressed in their new Vols gear, and are now practicing all sorts of crazy cheers. I’m so proud. I just hope they don’t burn out before the game.

Wonder if the players and coaches slept well last night. Coach Pruit starting his career as a head coach, wondering if he has prepared the team and himself as well as he should have. The players wanting a chance to erase the bad memories of last year from their memories. The freshman players who may never have flown before, getting used to college work and college football then flying to another state and playing on TV. Gotta be some nervousness. On that subject, one of the funniest things I ever saw was, during his monologue, Johnny Carson held up a piece of asphalt roofing with a picture of this guy with a turban on his head glued to it and said, "anyone know what this is, it is a Shiite on a shingle". Funny to me.
