With all of the attention around the new coach, it's easy to forget that Tennessee actually plays KY this evening.
I'm going to try to get tickets just down by the stadium tonight as cheap as possible.
I wish I knew whether or not the team in orange will be playing like they have never wanted to win a game more...or if they'll play like they did against Wyoming. Like they are just a bunch of brats who feel sorry for themselves.

What is the over/under on the number of passes UT will throw today? After the way we played the entire second half against Vandy, I think it would be pretty easy for Jones to catch their safeties cheating a little. I'd love to see him hit someone deep to keep them honest.

I've been telling UK fans all week that if Kentucky does not break the streak today, they need to fire their coach and close the program down. This is the best chance they have ever had to beat the Vols. All that said, they will fire the coach and close the football program down. :neener2: GO VOLS!

Need info.....heard on Sports Center that Peyton siad some powerful stuff...worth a million, and that the Vols will win.

What did he say and why did he wait until today to say it?

Thank god last game this year. I am actually ready for some football today after reading all the rants on the coaching hire. Hopefully we send Fulmer, Chavis, etc. and 2008 out on a good note. I hate not having a bowl game to look forward to. At least we have Bruce Pearl's squad on Sunday and through March. Go Vols!

Said something about Fulmer always being his Coach and friend.

Nothing earthshaking. Kept to the high road in complimenting Fulmer and his influence on the lives of his players.

He basically said that CPF will always be his coach and friend. Said that CPF did it the right way and did his best to raise good young men.

It's sad that when hiring a new coach these things were rarely mentioned.


Anyway, another thought I've had is that as little (relatively) as we are going to pay CLK, I have to assume that we'll spend more on the assistants.

It doesn't have to be an either/or situation. He was asked directly about CPF and said things that any person alive would (should) be proud of. He had only the highest personal praise for Phillip. Since so many of his current and former players think so highly of the man, I'll listen to them.

leaving nashville at noon sitting in section K and hoping for a good one.... despite the performance this year i will be at the volwalk and giving fulmer a pat on the back and a thank you for his service

I would think so. He does have a street named for him after all. It is an emotional time for many. The future will be interesting for sure.
