Here is the thing that chaps my hide: Before the game there was no mention in the media or on any boards that these players had flu like symptoms and that Spikes had an injury. Having said that I find these excuses as a way for them to attempt to save face on what happened to them today.

I wasn't referring to his coaching (not that his coaching is anything special- Monte's D is all he's got), I was referring to his behavior- avoiding halftime interview, his ridiculous comments after halftime, then avoiding eye contact and barely shaking hands with Meyer afterwards. He's a jerk with nothing to back it up but a last name and a 6-17 record as HC. I understand you guys want UT to be good again, but I don't understand how any of you could actually like this guy. I'm sure you will tire of his act quickly as the losses mount.

You gator fans just dont see outside the box... kiffin did what no other sec coach could do to the gators....He exposed UF. and with a un-ranked team at that...in fact im ready to start taking bets on which teams in sec will finish you guys off.

charish that #1 spot.cause it wont stay there very much longer

Do you remember this guy named Spurrier? Kiffin's attitude reminds me of his back in the 90's. Is the difference that the coach who is talking is in orange?

You act like your head coach is beloved. He's a huge jerk. And Crompton's extra chromosomes aren't Lane Kiffin's fault.

if they had blown us out like they were supposed to they would be saying we shut your coaches trap tonight but no it didn't happen so just like when they lose a recruit to us they make excuses we didnt want him we have the flu stop the dang whinning you pansies and own up to it

Teams don't like to advertise potential weaknesses prior to a game if they can help it (Spikes did however mention on his facebook page that he was getting treatment for his achilles and hoped to be healthy by Saturday, and he was visibly limping early in the game). No one is making excuses- we won, after all- I was simply responding to a comment on why Florida didn't open up the offense more. We had key players either out or limited by illness (I also said Monte's scheme had a lot do do with it). Those are facts, not excuses. As for Meyer, he was responding to a question in postgame interviews. I doubt you'll hear anything more about the "flu" or "excuses" unless it's on your own board.

I'm more interested in Lame's explanation for losing. He said UT outplayed Florida, but somehow they still lost. I'm sure he'll have an excuse for that.

Dude if your to blind to see the "sickness" was just BS and a way for Meyer to take away the way the Vols played today then you are a fool. With all the press on the field you believe that flu like would have not been exposed? Prior to the game all we heard was that the Gators were going to pour it on us. Our D is better then your teams D and that is a fact. With a decent QB you guys are beat and that is a fact.

My prediction on your season: 6-6, or 3-9 if Monte kicks the bucket by Halloween.

Damn. Sucks you guys couldn't hand it to a 3 win team. Really sucks that you didn't have victory assured in the fourth and that Tebow was forced to run out the clock in the end rather than pile up the extra points. I guess those BCS dreams are down the toilet.

Since the bolded statement never occurred, I'm assuming have to view those two men in a fantasy. Keep your pants on.
