I gotta support him by default since he's Tennessee's coach. I really hope he can salvage this recruiting class.

I can tell that the man has character. Alot of people of vol nation think that this is the worst thing in the world facing UT FB program. Lets get our priorities straight. Go to Haiti for a day then you will see were we are in the scheme of things. He will tell you the truth about anything and you may not like it but that's the way it is. lets give him our undieing support because he is UT's Head Coach. Are we going to rally around this guy. Hell, We didn't choose him he chose us. By god that means something to me.

A Big Orange Welcome to Coach Derek Dooley and Family. Also to all those that follow with him.

Welcome Coach - We hope you do a great job here at Tennessee. I don't know if Mike Hamilton mentioned it or not, but we are also in need of a new athletic director. I understand you have experience in that position, and the job is yours if you want.

Thanks for being our new Head Football Coach, and New Athletic Director.

Dooley also beat out some impressive names - names now very familiar to football fans - when he was hired there. Among the interviewed candidates were Jimbo Fisher and Kevin Sumlin, both assistants at the time at big-time programs. Fisher, as you know, landed a slightly higher-profile gig not too much later as the coach-in-waiting at Florida State, and Sumlin has landed the Houston Cougars

He beat these guys out for the LA Tech Job! Impressive.

Cleared my head and went back over his experience, given the circumstances I believe this is the best hire we could get at this point. Has SEC and recruiting experience, and he was the only guy willing to take a chance on us and try and solve the problems we're facing. Gotta respect the guy and hope he does well here, welcome to Knox CDD!

I was iffy at first but the more I see I think we may have a real winner here. He'll never do anything to embarrass the university and he seems to be well respected by the SEC coaching fraternity. I'm definitely willing to give him a fair shake!!! Welcome to BIG ORANGE COUNTRY coach Dooley!!!!!!

Well if anything he appears to be pretty smart and a straight shooter; not like the last ones.

Has a law degree and his wife is a doctor. And call it a sign from above but what are the odds...one of the kids name is "Peyton". Who knows but we may have a "Bruce Pearl 2" in the wings.

I have been a dyed-in-the-wool Big Orange fan for more than a half century. My sentiments are exactly as yours....We do welcome Coach Dooley to UT and I believe that he will, indeed, make all of us proud and make a lot of people eat crow.....Again, WELCOME Coach.....

I was recalling that Dooley's less-talented La Tech team gave LSU trouble this past year.

Checked the archives: playing at LSU's house, Tech lead at halftime 13-10, eventually lost 24-16, outgained LSU 322-246 in total offense. Not bad.

One of a number of things I like about him - he grew up in a SEC atmosphere. You won't hear him talking about our guys wearing "yellow" jerseys or wondering who Gen. Neyland was. Welcome to Big Orange Country, Coach Dooley. I'm glad you're here.
