Official Support Dave Hart thread

I stand behind him 100%. He is doing what he is supposed to do. If you think he ran off Pat Summitt then your an idiot. It was her decision to leave due to her health. Debbie Jennings has twisted the story around so much so people will feel sorry for her and has used Pat Summitt situation to her advantage. Dave Hart is making tough decisions and getting years and years of financial disasters heading in the right direction. He is our guy and there will be more tough decisions but HE IS OUR AD! Lets support him and his decisions!

So, Pat Summitt is an idiot? Or a liar?

I'm not saying he's not doing a good job, or doing the things he has to do. That remains to be seen. But Pat said it herself. Pat has earned the right for me to believe anything she says, especially in regards to the University of Tennessee.

Y'all are thinking with your hearts and not your heads. Hart made the right call, I love Pat Summitt. I rank General Neyland 1) and Pat Summitt 1a) but it would have been POTENTIALLY cruel and POTENTIALLY borderline inhumane to let her coach another year. Her disease is merciless and devastatingly unpredictable. She could be in the middle of a game and literally forget where she is, or who she is.. I know people who have early onset and they have good days and horrible days. Running her out on the court on one of those bad days is not fair to anyone involved especially Pat. The inevitable progression of her disease should not be witnessed in the midst of the public and she deserved to be honored while she is still in a relatively stable mindset. She went out on the top and went out the GREATEST. The problem with the greatest is that they can never just walk away. The decision usually needs to be made for them. If Hart did make the decision you can bet your a** he did it with Pat's best intentions as well as the University. I applaud him for making the tough decisions. I couldn't have done it. But either way I am certain the best decision was made.
I couldn't agree more. It is sour grapes from someone who rode the gravy train and felt entitled. Jennings can kiss it!

That dude got the short end of the stick in the looks department.

I am quite positive that is Danny Bonaduce during his husky years...look at the hair; that is the give away.

I support Hart. I also admire and cherish Pat Summitt.

I believe that the truth lies somewhere in the vague misty fog. Perhaps he counseled her that it would be OK if she retired or encouraged her to consider her options. That's his job. He may well have wanted her to feel free to do what she felt she needed to do. It may have seemed at the time that he was pushing her. According to the documents, Summitt later said he told her she had misconstued his discussions with her. That would make sense. Nobody is bigger in the UT athletic department than Pat Summitt ... at least until Peyton Manning signs back on!

I love Pat Summit, like all Vol Fans She is rated up near Coach Gen. Neyland. However there is always a time to do the right thing. And I believe Dave Hart did the right thing @ the right time. U'r coach should never be above u'r AD. So I support Dave Hart. Good Job. Keep it going.

I reserve the right to support him or support his resignation dependant on what comes out of the recent allegations brought against him.

I second that. I support him, but if he told a legend like Pat, after what she has done for UT, she was finished after being AD for 6 months, Im finished with him.

Im not talking about the allegations that he told her that she was being replaced.....I support that, its his job. Im speaking about the allegations of discrimination.

I dont care about the discrimination or Jennings. She thinks she is entitled to be in the AD forever, for some reason. I care about Pat. It was best she stepped down...shes not the same person before this disease. I wouldnt want her coaching & being lost out on the court, but I cant see how Hart could basicly fire her after what she has done & meant to UT

I think that there is still a lot to come out about what really happened. Not saying Pat isnt telling the truth...I would take her word over Harts, but the affidavit is vague with the last part and I want to hear this explained before I want to take Harts head.

Pat still has a huge contract -- hardly can see how that is running her off -- this lawsuit is sour grapes

Pat is neither , she has dementia and is likely to say one thing one day and another the next day .....maybe you should read up on the subject

Remember folks, the combined AD was MH's baby, Hart just carried through on it.

Hart is doing his job. Jennings had a cushy job for years, making good money, traveling first class, got a Pension and was insubordinate because she thought she was indispensable. Shame on her for dragging Pat into this. Unless she gets a sympathetic judge or bulls UT into a settlement, they will throw the case out.

Per today's Tennessean newspaper, David Climer is suggesting that Hart was just loosening up his muscles a wee bit prior to whacking Dools....

http://www.tennessean.com/article/2...mer-Dooley-may-see-own-fate-treatment-Summitt

From the weblink:

Court documents in a lawsuit brought by former Lady Vols publicist Debby Jennings include a sworn affidavit by Summitt in which she states that Hart told her prior to the NCAA tournament that she would not return as coach for the 2012-13 season.

So what am I missing??? Likely none of this would have even come out (from Pat S) had Jennings not filled the suit. Summit was obligated to give a truthful statement which inadvertantly disclosed her frustration with Hart. Apparently, all was well and worked out with Pat and the University/Hart. She did take the postion as emeritus... Misunderstandings happen all the time and this was certainly a delicate situation. I guarantee it was important to everyone (including Hart) at the university that Pat was treated like gold. I am sure even with the best of intentions, speaking to Pat about stepping down as HC would be a teribly difficult task.
