Official Super Bowl XLVIII thread

I feel like that had to awkward for fisher going to the rams. I bet they have more than a few of pictures of that game up on the walls.

I wonder if after the first tour he was on, his first question was "Hey can we take some of these pictures down?"

I actually heard an interview with him last week and he joked about how it took him a while to get over it but now he is reminded about it every day.

I didn't make this, so don't shoot the messenger. I just thought it was funny.

After having some time to digest it, here are my thoughts on the Super Bowl:

(1) Was shocked, as it appeared the Broncos were, that the stadium was as noisy as it was. I am assuming that the Seahawks fans showed up in force and it wasn't just generic fans making all that racket.

(2) Seattle's defense is the real deal.

(3) Denver's O-Line easily put in the most disappointing performance. Had it settled in despite the disastrous first half, it could've still been a game.

(4) I thought Knoshawn Moreno had a very bad game. Not sure what was going on with him. He fumbled early (which the Broncos recovered). He failed to make a play for the ball or defender on the deflected pass that was intercepted and returned for a TD. He also didn't make much of an effort to track down Smith after the interception. Like the rest of them, he had a bad night.

(5) It's been awhile since Peyton's had "one of those games." The first pick was his (although he had to rush to throw it). The countless times the D got to him and hit his arm is on the O-line. The pick six was on the O-line.

(6) Denver's D did enough early to hold back the tide despite the horrific first quarter. Not great, but they held Seattle to field goals. Denver's O was atrocious. Then, in the second half, Seattle's O came alive and looked really good as well. Complete performance.

(7) It was a "perfect storm" for Seattle. That is not to lessen its victory at all. They played tremendously. However, not one thing went against them the entire game. Sometimes that happens.

(8) I wanted this game badly for Peyton. Just wanted to shut the critics up forever. The modern media age is just dreadful. People will do and say anything to get attention. It isn't even about legitimate debate anymore. It is all about how much of an insult you can lay down on someone or what kind of rise you can get out of people.

(9) The defeat was so decisive it is hard to even feel really bad about it. It's almost an absurdity.

Fun fact
Twice this season the Seahawks played in MetLife stadium with blowout wins over the giants and broncos. The Seahawks made the manning brothers punching bags.
A shutout of the giants in regular season, and a blowout win over the broncos that was also nearly a shutout. So MetLife stadium was like the Seahawks second home.

12 seconds for Seahawks to score fastest in sb history it's like it was a omen. 12th man and 12 seconds to score.
Then they easily score in 2nd half with Harvin.
Either the broncos special teams has to much confidence to think they could contain Harvin, or they had to learn the hard way that Harvin is not the guy you want to kick to.

Like the raiders over the redskins who also had a amazing offense this was a topnotch win that is legendary considering the broncos offense was statistically the greatest.

Caleindo as gruden, jaws, Bergman, dikta, and others talking about Sherman damn funny.

The stat I want to see was Manning's average snap-throw-time. It had to be under 3 seconds and they were in his face the whole game. I can't believe how much pressure they put on Manning.

I think he could have played his very best football and they still would have lost by 3 TDs.

Yep because the Seahawks defense and their tackling is that damn great.

So the NFC championship game was the real Super Bowl?
If by that a damn better game than yes.

The broncos deciding to kick to Harvin was damn inexcusable.

Seahawks must have have had Vaseline on their skin because broncos tackling was awful.

21 of the 53 players on the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks active roster came into the NFL as undrafted free agents.
