TRUE FRESHMAN comes in for his first action of the season, IN THE SWAMP, under duress, and makes 8 catches for 59 yards. Not GREAT numbers, but he led the team in receptions. He will get much better in the next couple of weeks as his reps increase in practice, and as he gets a little different approach from the coaching staff.

He's going to be stud. Sucks to have Hunter go down, and he cannot really be replaced, but I think Arnett needs a bit of love here.

Arnett will be a stud for us in the future. That was quite the debut, in a very hostile environment.

Most of those catches were for 8-9 yards on a 3rd and 7.

Kid knows how to find the sticks and get open enough for Bray to fit the ball in. Played a good game.

Arnett will be a stud in the very near future. I just wish he was a junior olympic high jumper like Mr. Hunter. Also, I'll give some love to Vincent Dallas for making a pretty good Freshman debut in the Swamp. It is starting to look like our days of converted HS QB's at receiver are over. WR U Baby!!!

He played a great game. Especially for a true freshman on the road stepping in for an injured J.Hunter

Yeah, imagine what the kid can do when the coaches actually design the game plan involving him more. When Hunter went out, there were around 20 plays designed for him that we had to scratch. For Arnett to come in and do what he did without notice, was simply impressive.

I was impressed. He stepped up and didn't let the pressure get to him. It's a huge blow losing Hunter, but Arnett has nowhere to go but up from here which could lead to a surprising year.

Besides Hunter and Rodgers, this kid is able to create the most separation from his defender on a cosistent basis. If you go back and look at the film, he pretty much abused whoever was guarding him which led to wide open passes. Kid is going to be very, very good. That video of him doing 1v1 drills at a camp is just redonkulous.

Agreed on the separation part. Rogers has bully strength, Hunter (when he comes back) has mega lift, and Arnett has great separation. Those three, next year, could lead us to having the best passing game in the country. I just hope like he!! that they all stay healthy after Hunter's recovery.

Arnett looks as if he may be the best route runner we have. with Bray's accuracy this combo just might be deadly.

Off topic, I truly believe the vols have got to get back that deep threat. I pray Milton steps up huge.

I would like to see the Vols develop Arnett, Dallas and Milton. These guys plus Hunter coming back next year with D. Rogers would be by far the best receiving corp in the nation.

Let's also not forget about a recruit we have named Jason Croom. He looks every bit the part.

I would like to see Dallas some more, but they both looked very good in a bad situation. That is why guys come to places like UT though. Great players step in and make plays against great competition.

Part of the problem with both those guys is that the coaches will be limited in what they can do with them. I hope that people don't start calling for their heads when they make the freshman mistakes that they are sure to make.

I think we all expected/hoped for Arnett to take over the slot before the year was finished. I guess it just is going to happen sooner than planned.
