I was a bit more alarmed by how well the defense seemed to do against the O-Line and the number of INT's thrown. I worry b/c it sounds like the D was able to get pressure and according to many on this site our D-Line and LB's should be our weakest position this year. This leads me to be concerned about how the OL will do against SEC quality opponents. Although it does sound like they were able to create space, considering Neal's overall stats for the game. Does anyone have the stats for any of last year's spring scrimmages by chance?
I'm curious how the O-Line performed this year compared to last year at this time.
It's really hard to take much from stats in a spring scrimmage with many of your expected starters sidelined or not present to begin with, unless you are the coach. Whatever the case, it sure sounds like Neal's development is coming along nicely. Can't wait to see if that translates into success on the field for him. I still believe TP has the potential to be a great back this year, I like the idea of running more short pass plays and screens with him, as long as he holds on to the ball.
Go Vols!
