They have tried it in the past, but it was generally poorly received by comparison to the "blue-blood" programs. In a 22,000 seat arena, a lot of empty seats, if even 5,000 people attend, gives a sense of apathy.

It was horribly done.....not the fans fault.....it was nowhere near the showcase that Kentucky puts on

No, I agree. Realistically, the level of fan interest in the first basketball practice will never rival UK fan interest. It's just what makes each school unique.

However, the fans who did/would come out were met with a pretty rinky-dink production that wasn't worthy of their time and support. It can, and should be more organized and extravagant. I would just as soon not have one as to see it done poorly.

Aaahh, no problem. People have probably said worse...lol.

FWIW, my 92 year old grandmother LOVES Marshall Henderson for the same reasons you do, so it's not an entirely rogue opinion. She would call me and tell me every time OM was playing on TV to let me know she was watching.

Yeah I have stated on here before that it the worst thing about it was that the mascot basketball game was the highlight of the night.

Was that the one that followed a Bulls vs. Hawks game, that was played at TBA? I was at that one, but imagine Jerry Green being a big reason that one was a bust. Dude had 0 personality and could care less about the fans.
