Official OC search update thread...

I don't care who CBJ hires as the next OC, but he better be able to stretch the field vertically next season.

Donnie Knoxville disagrees :):):)

Just saying not like they used to be. They barely have enough employees to even run any investigations. And SoMiss imposed their own penalties, not the NCAA..If Ala 's Tux-GateI or fish-gate had happened in the late '90s or early 2000's they would have been on probation again for all of that but the NCAA doesn't have the manpower or power they had back then.

So a guy that has coached in the NFL for twenty years isn't capable of running CBT's offense? Thumbs up to you.

Capable? Sure he is, but he's old and set in his ways so how long would it take him to learn the offense? He's not a spread guy and the wrong hire (kippy brown) would not be a smooth transition and could have serious consequences on the program for a number of years. Refer to Dave Clawson

Doubt Brown could run a read option or spread offense. Would be like asking Cut to run the wishbone, Malzahn to run the west coast or Paul Johnson to run a prostyle. They possibly could do it but why not hire a guy who's specialty is what we already have in place? Not to mention NFL guys get pensions after so many yrs in the NFL, makes no sense to make that move unless it's your only option.

No problem.

Maybe you could suggest Kubiak as your next outside the box hire for OC.
Take your fist and go punch yourself...in the face.
Another VN comedian..if you read instead of insulting, you would know where my comment came from.. Yea I didn't know.. Glad to know there's another VN arse I can count on for being a jerk.. So many on here..

Might be hiring more than just an OC, I just saw on Twitter where Azzani is a candidate for HC at central michigan

A guy about to coach in the Super Bowl would struggle? I get it. Let's hire the Blount County high school coach instead.

Gene Chiznuts won a national title at auburn is he a good coach? Not saying kippy isnt a good coach he just isnt the right fit, Dooley has supposedly improved the passing game for the cowboys over the past couple of seasons should he be back at ut as oc?

A. He is the president of Youngstown State in which im sure he gets paid very well for his services.
B. Given our recent history with the NCAA why in the hell would you hire Tressell? The NCAA is already looking around.
C. Just stop with rumors, they make you look like a mental midget when the truth comes out and you have to defend yourself.

Did I miss something?

We don't know if Kippy is a good fit or not. Whether his personality would mess with Butch and the staff is the unknown (to us). Pay would be a problem too. But football knowledge isn't a factor. And having the connection to the NFL would be huge.

I think Sonny Cumbie at TCU would be a homerun hire. TCU was incredibly dynamic on offense this season.

My first guess is he plays it safe and moves Azzani over to OC.

My second guess is TJ Weist or possibly another coach he has crossed paths with and has experience.

Jones seems very risk averse and supremely confident in his brand of football.

My third guess is someone in the realm of Jay Johnson from LA Lafayette. Maybe not Johnson specifically, but someone of that level.

There won't be a "splash" hire.

I tend to agree. Hopefully Butch grows out of the paranoia that Fulmer had with making big time hires.

Though I don't think there's any way this happens, I think coach Jake made almost twice what he did last year, and all of the staff is supposed to get a raise after CBJ's extension. Money talks, but his team will probably be No. 1 or 2 in the nation when the polls come out and he has almost everyone coming back from last year's team.

Also, does anyone know what style offense they run? I don't.

And you're yet another who can't handle some ribbing and takes everything on here as an insult that doesn't mesh with what you deem fit.

It's a message board, nothing more nothing less.

I hope you can take a joke better in real life.

Feel free to hit the ignore button for my offenses against you.

I want to say TCU runs the spread with a duel threat QB. From what I saw in te Ole Miss game they move the ball pretty quick.

I've noticed the similarities there as well.

I just think most coaches tend to stick with what they are most familiar and comfortable with in terms of assistants.

Look at what the Broncos did with Kubiak as another example.

I just really hope it isn't Debord. That guy has never had anything but fail associated with him as a coach.
