FWIW, there's a big difference between a walk-on and a preferred walk-on. Maybe that difference effects the rules on announcements or maybe they're allowed to announce. I remember Swafford got all kinds of press after he was picked up but I don't know what his status was.

Eh, I wouldn't say "big" difference.. Both will be scout teamers in the end. With a few getting some ST reps

Coaching. mizzou's classes usually rank in the 30's-40's and they seem to be getting better on the field. IMO it comes down to taking kids and getting the most out of them. You don't have to have 5*s across the board to win, if you can coach.

Agree. This and they, like Oregon, look for "fits" as much or more than the kind of raw talent everyone else fights over.

That said, Mizzou has always been kind of a come again, go again program. They have success then fade.

It is STILL my opinion that the past season was an anomaly unless they start getting more talented players. They lost to the one top tier program that played them in relatively good health. UT isn't staying down talent wise. UF will eventually find some coaching. UGA won't always lose 6 or 7 of their top O skill players before playing Mizzou.

If not for a "perfect storm"... they would not have won the East.

Pinkel is a very good coach. Watch for other schools to start picking his assistants off though. His DC is headed for a pay day IMO.
