I saw the preorder boxes in GameStop last weekend. It looks like this game will finally see the light of day in 2008. I'm very excited by what I read from the Itagaki interview... more blood and dismemberments, but minor changes to the combat system.

I guess if you had problems getting past the first boss (Murai) in NG/B you may not be as excited as I am... but be sure to check out the screenshots. The game looks beautiful thus far.

NG2 won't even be out until mid-2008.

I'm excited though! :dance2:

Reviews are pointing to a crappy camera system. It's also hard as hell like the first game.

From what I've been reading, there just isn't all that much new here and it's not as good as first hit...errr, game in the series. I'm sure previous NG fans will dig it, but not sure how many new fans will get into given the difficulty. Lots of people just don't want to get that frustrated with a game.

There are almost always camera issues with this type of game. One of the major improvements from NG to NG:B was the camera system.

I expect it to feel like an updated NG:B, with newer graphics and content. I'll be more than happy with that, as will the rest of the NG freaks such as myself, out there.

The best part will be the new gameplay videos from experts. I love watching a great NG player do their thing. :)

I'll let you guys know if its any good when I pick it up next week. The reviews I've read from some of the guys on the NG board are promising for ppl that enjoyed the NG and NG:B, but since that was no one else on this board...

I'm willing to give this one a shot. Never know...now that I have a bit more time on my hands, I might actually get into it.

After you mentioned reviews yesterday, I dug around some... IGN still gave the game an 8.7, but complained about difficulty and camera as usual. A couple of guys at the NG forum have gotten to play, one played the early release/review copy, and the other got to play the final build at the release party in LA. Both were impressed with the game. The one that played the final build said it was more fun than NG:B... that's saying something from a hardcore NG player.

Downloading the game right now. I'll have some impressions posted tonight...if I can get through the first level. :) I'm not a hardcore NG player and never really played the first one (or any of the 30 remakes they did of it...).

I'm at the second boss now. I would recommend the higher setting to folks familiar with the game. I'm going through on the easy level and nothing has been all that bad until this second boss. After 10 or so tries, I'm calling it a night. I'll try and resume tomorrow.

I'm no expert, but it appears to be like the first one which is probably good for fans. Doesn't seem like anything too different. I only played about 10 minutes of the first one, but graphics, levels, etc. all looked familiar.

Camera is about the same in my mind. Framerate seems to be very solid from what I can tell. No complaints there.

Strange...

List looks right to me. I've gotten about 10 so far and they are all on that list.

On the 3rd boss now. No idea what it is or how to beat it.
