Great move for the Blues but it is a risky move by the Habs after the run halak put up in the playoffs. The unrestricted FA class is pretty thin this year but should be interesting to see where Kovalchuk goes. Most of the rumors have him going to LA but there will be much developing from that.

Other than that the thrashers should be staying in the dirty and Chris Pronger is still a huge douche.

As far as the draft goes it will be interesting to see what develops from the Oilers/Bruins/Hall/Seguin saga. I'm guessing Edmonton will keep the first pick and use it on Hall. We shall see.

I think Nashville needs to stop trading good defensemen to the Flyers. They are like a farm team....

Wow Nabakov to KHL. Makes you wonder if Kovalchuk may seriously look there too. That would be unfortunate for the NHL.

I personally would like to see Kovalchuk come to Los Angeles. It would give me a reason to go see more Kings games.

I am also happy to see Joe Corvo back in Carolina.

Who knows what is going on with Kovalchuk and the Kings. First they were after him, then they said they were done chasing him, and now apparently they are back in the game. I heard they prob weren't going to offer more than 8 mil a year though. He could prob get close to double that in the KHL. I'd like to see him with the Kings though.

Good to see corvo back in carolina. Hopefully they can make some more moves coming up.

Also Turco's value just skyrocketed.

I've always liked Turco.

It would be a shame to see IK make more money in the KHL than in the NHL. If he can do it I don't blame him one bit but he needs to be in the NHL. Excuse me, the NHL needs him to be in the NHL.

Getting painfully slow now. I've had about enough of the IK saga. He needs to realize that no team can pay him the outlandish money he wants while still being a contender. Gagne looks like he is about to be put on waivers. Frolov looks like he won't find a team until IK does. Otherwise it's been a pretty slow free agent period. Dissapointing considering that a player the caliber of IK doesn't hit the market very often.

Kovalchuk re-signs with Devils, it's over finally. Honestly, if he really wanted a chance at the cup I don't know if staying in NJ was the best move. With all the talent in the eastern conf., it's the tougher road. I don't know if the Kings dropped the ball on this one, and I don't think they did, L.A. was the best fit to me. We'll see how it works out.

Here's the story:

TSN is reporting that the league is rejecting the Kovalchuk contract for obvious reasons.
