My concern is staying out of foul trouble. ZZ has struggled picking up early fouls.I don’t think either Utah State or UCLA has the scoring depth to beat us if we play to our standard of defense.
Utah State is 2-3 over their last 5, losing to Colorado State twice and Boise State. UCLA is 3-2 over their last 5, losing to Wisconsin and Purdue.
I’d say UCLA would be the tougher battle, but what’s nice is that they don’t have a dominant big. Our guards would force them to shoot tough shots.
Edit: Utah State is 149th (sheesh) in KenPom defensive efficiency.
They played a bunch of close games in their conference, so their efficiency numbers aren’t the greatest.Memphis is a wierd profile. They have some great wins: Uconn, Mich State, Ole Miss, Mizzou, Vlemson. BUT they are LOWER in kenpom than their first round opponent, Colorado St (51 vs 42) (SOS is about the same between them)
