Official NCAA Football '11 Thread

not bad....i didn't buy 10' but I'll most likely purchase 11'. It will be a good transition from playing world cup all summer

Without some heavy competition, there won't be any real changes to this franchise, sadly.

2k Sports, where art thou?

Holy crap, they have just announced some ground breaking new features for NCAA 11.......wait for it.................wait for it......................NEW MACOTS YEAH!!!!!!! WTF EA

Great news. The lack of mascots was the only real weakness on '10. I'm gonna stop and preorder mine this evening now that they have addressed this.

They are clearly devoting important time to the things that matter. I just hope that they can come out with a polished version of season showdown. If they do that, then this is a day one purchase for me.

i like how in the first video blog they pretty much freak out about formation subs, even though it's a feature they've had before on last gen. definitely glad to see them back though.

-also the autosave and autoload can't be hard to do. they've had autosave on ncaa bball before and the autoload isn't groundbreaking at all

-refs on the field is cute and all, but who really cares? they had it in madden last year

-gang tackles makes it better i think but again it's from madden, i don't see why they think it's so groundbreaking

-new equipment is good to have just to make it look better (i know i like to have the players on ut look as close to real life as possible) but like the refs it's just cosmetic

-the one bowl week in online dynasty is better, but i dunno why it wasn't like that before anyway

-"dynamic" conference logos should've been in there last year with custom conferences

-numbers on helmets is supposed to be a key feature? gimme a break...

there are some improvements most are just cosmetic though. most of them come from another game or is just ea fixing one of the features from last year...i would really like ea to get this together and present us with a good game but im not holding my breath

Like I have said before, I dont mind them ripping stuff from Madden 10, just improve on them and polish them up and it should be a good game. But taking dev time(which is something that is always used as an excuse for poor innovation from each year) to have new mascots and things like season showdown is just dumb imo.

i don't mind they take stuff from madden either but it'd be nice to see them take out the stupid stuff they have now like every time ur qb throws a duck straight up in the air it's a pick six etc.

and i hate when they include stupid things like season showdown too...it's just an excuse to not do the work needed to fix the game it's so transparent it's not even funny

They will never say they fixed momentum ai. It is like a secret now that it is in game. I cannot remember the last year cu assist could be turned on and off maybe 2000. It is like a big secret to manipulate marketing now. But yes the lob throws in the game should be an easy fix. The main issue of ai will not be fixed if they sold many copies. Where sales down this year?

not understanding the rubber band AI argument. the game is very simple. if you start sucking and getting lazy during a game, the cpu will take advantage. however, if you continue to OWN the AI like the repetitive **** that it is, then you don't lose.

anyways, online play removes that issue.

Not how it works at all but keep on...

Take momentum out of a football game? They wouldn't dare. They should but then again when you're playing a game it would suck to sit through a three minute commercial waiting on the instant replay.

When EA took the Momentum Meter off of the game they said that momtentum would still be a factor in gameplay didn't they? They didn't feel the need for a meter. That's what I recall.

Ridiculous. They fix the glitches and call them features.

Here's my real quick off the cuff list of changes I'd like to see:
1) Take away the aggressive/conservative options.
2) Make receivers faster/make DE's slower. The time it takes for a DE to run around the OL is shorter than it takes for receivers to run their medium-long routes, thus resulting in games that end up being dink and dunk offenses all the way down the field due to being sacked on any other passing play cause you don't have time to let plays develop the way they should.
3) fix the defense, period. man coverage might as well not exist, and you can easily pick apart the zone. games with my friends are now glorified offensive practice with the only turnovers occuring when our qb's randomly throw 5 feet behind receivers.
4) the super studs are too good. i've seen plays where a running back from cal or georgia tech have broken 6 or 7 tackles in one run. yeah they're good in real life, but not that good.
5) tone down the comeback mode. it's seriously the worst thing ever. it ruins the game each and every time. if i'm destroying a friend, why should my players start fumbling every play? it makes it feel like you have no real control over the outcome of the game. this is probably the most annoying thing about '10, as a lot of the other problems stem from the comeback mode.

sorry if this was too long, i just wanted to make my opinion known.

+1 especially the DE/WR thing. I've got one friend whose whole defensive scheme is to jump the snap and run around my tackle untouched (then he gets mad because i don't throw the ball downfield).

I like the aggressive/conservative idea, but I will say I think it needs to be toned down a bit. The jumpsnap works way too well if it's on aggressive and the strip ball is 90% facemask 5% no call 5% fumble. Last time i checked players don't randomly swipe at the helmet to strip the ball. :ermm:

I just want a little improvement in the "realistic" aspects such as speed of position players. This game has been pretty stagnant lately when it comes to gameplay

Lyls don't judge the game by the demo. It will have the infamous "keep it close" setting on full strength!
