I have been a baseball fan long enough to know that an unexpected run like the Pred’s have had is often the result of several players performing above what they do in the future. I’m thinking of a couple of key pieces—Fisher and Ribs—who are old enough that they will hit the wall in the next year or two unless they turn into Gordie Howe. We are in love with the Prince, but the rest of the league seem to have figured him out and have shut him down in the second half. We expect him to improve. he may turn out to be a 20-goal guy who doesn’t improve. I’m just saying, this may be the best team we will put on the ice at one time for several years to come. It’s now or (maybe) never.
