As a huge Preds fan and hockey in general, I have to say something is wrong.

I believe the talent is there but something has to be going on behind the scenes.

This team is missing/struggling with something.

Any ideas?

They aren't bad but do appear to be less than the sum of their parts. Johansen and Forsberg still have not taken the big leap forward that people have been expecting given their natural talent and athletic ability. Does Johansen have moody or petulant child qualities about him? The fact he complained about Columbus not having a "tribute" for him I think is telling. He isn't some legend of the franchise deserving of one and he had a big falling out with Tortorella which led to him being traded. Why would he expect that to begin with? And even if he did "deserve" one, it is really the best look to publicly complain about it?

Maybe there is something going on between Laviolette and the players.

Interesting game tonight. Come out flat at home against the team directly behind you in the wild card, get your goalie pulled, have a couple of fights, get energized and come barnstorming back, just to lose in OT because you still suck 3-on-3.

He has it for spurts, there were a few times last night where he was awesome, but the goals he did let up were very frustrating.

I really do think he is on the decline. He was a hallmark of consistency in his prime, never really was a streaky player, but he has been very streaky the past couple of years.

I just hate how also in his prime years, he was overworked and worn out by the time the playoffs came around.

That's pretty much how I feel. We never really had the offense to help take the pressure off in the postseason.
