Well I went the 2k8 route, and I love it. The pitching is a lot hard this versus last year, but I really like it. Also pitching and throwing (fielding) is all based on the analog stick.

I really wish The Show was on 360!

I got 2K8 and was only able to play for a short time last night.

I like it but for now I switched the hitting and pitching to the classic style.

The hitting is what really threw me off!

I love the hitting the way it is but the pitching will take some adjusting

The Show is the only one that lets you create a player and work your way up through the minors, correct? I haven't bought a baseball game in years, and I haven't followed what each games pros and cons are.

I kinda want a new baseball game, but to pay full price for the game, I want it to have some lasting appeal. Anybody care to give some details on the game?

They both let you do that....But my understanding is that The Show is more in depth when it comes to that.

I had 2 years of the show on ps2, and it was a good game, i enjoyed the gameplay and the career mode.

The franchise mode, however, was too clunky. The time to search through players for a trade, and the vague ratings attached to said players, was enough to make me miserable.

Also, it was just too damn easy. Perfect game to drink some beers and play with a buddy, but single player was a pushover and relatively monotonous

Not sure about MLB2K, but The Show you can pick any position and play as them. You interact with the manager, play and hit when you would in real life, and work your way up building stats, meeting career goals, etc.

If you are a starting pitcher, you throw every 4 or 5 days. The rest you don't see, just the stats. If in a DH league, you wont hit unless you're playing in non-DH stadium.

I'm a closer right now. So, I only throw an inning a game to seal the deal. You can work through a season or two in just a few hours.

Contemplating whether or not to dish out on 2K. Haven't bought a baseball game since MVP 2004. may have to rent it first

I rented 2K8 yesterday. Played one game. The pitching is different but I like it. I haven't tried the GM or franchise mode yet but I will soon.

I played a couple hours of The Show this weekend with my Closer character. I'm 0-1 w/ 1.71 ERA, 11 of 13 saves, 28 innings pitched, 26 strikeout. Currently, I'm the set up guy for Binghamton Mets. I pitch 3 out of 4 games nowdays. I was the closer for a couple months due to the normal closer getting injured.

Hoping to keep the ERA under 2 and finish out the year. Should move up to AAA next year with hopefully a run or two in the majors if injuries pop up.

Always Be Closing...

I created a 7' tall 300 pound pitcher that throws a deadly epheus pitch! I have 26 strikeout with him in 19 innings :)

That's certainly an imposing foe on the mound. Can you imagine seeing Shaq throwing fastball at you?

I really like this concept. Do they do this for 2K? The show is only on PS3 right?

2K appears to have something somewhat similar. I haven't played the full 2K release myself.

The Show is PS3 only.

They added all the minor league teams, but I don't think they have it where you can work your way up.

I played a game the other night with the Smokies against the Red Sox

Too bad the names aren't correct....I'm sure Jake Fox would have went deep.
