Official Midterm Election Results

Oh I'm sure it will. The American people really need another way for oil companies to make profits. Just heard the new guy from Colorado mention it as the first thing to act on. Yep man, America really has no other problems on our plate. That pipeline has really been the root of all of our problems.

The whole issues with the economy have a lot to do with the death grip the Dems put on energy.

Everything manufactured in the U.S. uses some sort of energy to produce it and then ship it. Companies have to push that rise in energy costs onto the consumer in order to stay profitable.

The Pipeline looks to lower those costs, add needed jobs, and decrease our dependence on foreign oil.

Its not rocket science

North Dakota currently has the lowest unemployment rate at 2.8% thanks to an energy boom in that state. And those are real jobs that pay well not BS part time jobs that Obama has created.

No no, it's much easier to say Big Oil is bad as that takes little to no understanding of US economics.

So why, in your opinion, are companies holding so much cash? If the govt will get out of the way you'll see exactly how trickle down works. If the rich are hoarding their money taxing them to oblivion has shown to be useless. Also, printing more money and giving it to the less responsible creates nothing except retail jobs.

I think they are hoarding cash because it buoys their stock price in the current configuration of the market.

The investment class is getting rich(er) these days, not by investing in long term brick and mortar projects, but in insta-trading in hyper-inflated stock prices.

Seems like the worst thing you can do these days is announce that your company is going to reinvest some of its profits into a new plant.

I have a friend that got a good job up there due to that. He's moving back to go to grad school next month but that job definitely is paying him well.

Exactly, that's a huge player in the price of oil coming down despite Barry's anti fossil fuel policies.

All that is totally true but would you rather have a pipeline or a fair tax code?

Can't help but think the GOP success is temporary. It might take 20 years, but eventually a lot of red states are going to be turning more blue. Look at Texas. Lose that one, and you're done.

In 2012 the Rs had no shot at winning on a national scale because of changing demographics. In 2014 Rs win big on a national scale, could it be the demographics the Dems have been taking advantage of for decades are seeing the light?

I agree with most of what you are saying, but do you understand the WHY that is happening?

Yeah really. I wouldn't let him spoil my celebration.

On the other hand, if Mitch answered...hope he would say " America has had enough of your lawlessness and failed policies, and they have spoken."

When has Barry tried to work with Mitch before?

Cash does not trump growth in the stock market. Using that cash to buy back stock buoys stock the stock price.

Your comment about reinvesting is way off base. You don't know d**k about economics, so I'd just stick to race baiting, mindless rants, and incessant whining.

You complaining about a market dynamic the Dems helped to create is rich. Thanks for the morning chuckle.

The opposite of what we have now? Ha I'm not sure, I am in no way smart enough to say.

Let me just drop a little reality on you. A fair tax code is a fantasy along the lines of unicorns and smart gators. A truly fair tax code would eliminate much of the control the Federal Government has over the citizenry. So not going to happen.
