Official March Madness Thread

If Loyola wins are any ready to admit we were just beaten by a better team?

Most of that I'll attribute to youth and inconsistency.
Our best years are ahead of us.

I would say they are definitely better than an 11 seed.

Loyola is not better than us. Stop this nonsense guys.

They’ve won all their games by a total of 4 points and they’ve been hot and played their best no doubt. Them beating 9 seed k state today doesn’t change the fact that we are better than them and we blew it.

Please stop with the fluffing.

I rarely agree with you but this statement is 100% correct.

We’d beat Loyola a 2nd time with a healthy Alexander.

Even if Loyola-Chicago should've been seeded better than 11 seed, Tennessee still should've beat them.

Every single win has basically been a buzzer beater.

K-State had an EASIER route and then they beat Kentucky by 3.. And lets' be honest, Kentucky is just YOUNG team.

K-State should be more of a 12-13 IMO. They were 21-10 and 10-8 in conference play.

Loyola-Chicago was 25-5 and 15 -3 in the MVC. ( they won their season and tournament)

Tennessee was 23-7 and 13-5 in SEC (we won co-champ and runner up in tourney)

At the end of the day, Tennessee should've beat them

Loyola up 36-24 at the half.

On a team UT thrashed on their home court. My bad! Thanx for the corrections!

20 minutes from a final four appearance.

And we lost to Loyola by a point.

Lulz. You better hope Loyola don’t won’t this, I’ve got your post from a couple days ago ready to bump...

How are they a better team?

We’ve played a tougher schedule and we missed Alexander who was one of our best rebounders.

Not to mention they won on a last second shot.

I see most here are cheering against Loyola which kind of surprises me. It will actually make me feel a little better knowing we lost to such a good team.

Loyola is a very good team. Kentucky has better individual parts, but Loyola has a better blend of parts. They're an example of experience and selflessness being more valuable than talent in a college basketball environment.

Most maybe but not all. The nun gimmick didn't endear them to me. We lost in the second round, it wouldn't make me feel better about that even if the Cinderella team we lost to wins the whole shebang. Embrace the salt, screw those guys.

Which is exactly why we'll be successful going forward.

Vols beat them with the team we played with all year.

I don't look at the TN-Loyola thing as "should have". I look at it as "capable of".

Tennessee is not way above and beyond better than Loyola. But, Tennessee was plenty capable of winning the game. Didn't happen.

A few inches here or there on the final shot and they are out in the first round to Miami.

In 2000, Florida lucked out when Butler missed free throws at the end of the game and Mike Miller hit a buzzer beater. They went on to beat Illinois, Duke, Oklahoma State, and North Carolina to get to the NCAA Final.

There's a lot of teams every year that ask "what could have been" and there are a lot of teams every year that go home losing a game they could have won.

They only have 2 seniors that play significant time.

They are mostly a junior/sophomore team.

They'll be even better next year.. but so should we.

The Kentucky youth excuse? That will be Calipari's team almost every single year.

They might be a good team... but if you are going to tell me that they beat us because they were the better team, I just can't say that.

If anything the more they win, the more I get annoyed. It's not like they are blowing out teams. We BLEW OUT our first round game.

And let's say they finally BLOW out K-State.. well, good for them because K-State isn't that good.
