I said to have a sense of humor. This is the thread to make fun of UT Martin, isn't it? It was nothing personal. Obviously, there are various reasons someone might go to UTM. I just don't see the need to go easy on UTM when it is supposed to be in fun. It isn't really serious until Alabama week, I guess. At that point, everything that is posted is 100% truth.

That year they played a 5-7 Auburn team to a 37-20 game and considering AU beat us...

I'd say we would have won by about 2 TD's. The '08 team was awful.

no they really weren't. WKU was 2-10 the year before going to FBS. They won it all in 2002 but were on a huge slide down after that. They didn't win a game last year

A 5-7 Auburn team that beat Mississippi State 3-2 and Tennessee 14-12? Do you not think that UTM will be the least talented team to come into Neyland in the last 10-15 years?

I would agree that the UTM team will be the worse team to ever get the honor of playing on shields-watkins field!

I found this on the UTM website and apologize if it's been posted previously...

"The University of Tennessee at Martin football team will hold a meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30 in the Bob Carroll Football Building on campus for anyone interested in playing for football for the Skyhawks as a walk-on."

UTM Sports

So 5 days before the biggest game that school may EVER play, they are looking for walk-ons?

What happened? Did a bunch of the players quit?

Most small schools have open walk on try outs a couple of days after classes start. I wouldn't read too much into that.

They maybe preparing for the worst. A couple of those cheerleaders could walk on.

Do you think any of them have a chance to suit-up and face the Vols?

If I had the chance to enter Neyland in a uniform (any uniform) I would absolutely do it. :rock:

I think I'm starting to envy these guys.

That's understandable, but im just saying we should make sure we beat the opponent first before making fun of them. So agree to disagree.
