Official Make Fun of North Carolina Thread

I didn't graduate from UT, I personally don't care. But to say "academically better" is a little silly.

I have actually had many family members graduate from UT and have been very successful. I do not see how it is silly to say one institution is academically better than another? UNC is known for its academics. Just as most people would pick a football player from a University that was ranked 5th who has the same numbers over a player who was from a University that was ranked 39th; an executive would probably do the same with two applicants.

From this day forward, UNC will be known for this.

Ha ha ha...this is too good. In a conversation about football, we've had basketball brought up (a la Kentucky fans) and academics (Vanderbilt fans).

I disagree, it would depend on what the job and what their major is.

Like I said I'm an Anthropology major here at UT, another university like Florida may also have an Anthropology program and be ranked higher than us (I have no idea if Florida is ranked higher I just know they have an Anthro program) So let's say that Florida is ranked academically higher than UT overall, and I apply for a job along with Florida student that was an Anthro major and has the same numbers as me. By your reasoning the other student would get the job and I wouldn't

That's probably not true, while academically UT is ranked lower than Florida, if you look at the specific programs you'd see that UT has the best Anthropology program in the nation with the only University Body farm and the largest collection of skeletal remains out side of the Smithsonian.

Just saying, You can't just look at the university but the individual programs that the person majored in.

Anyways, we shouldn't be talking about academics anymore because this is a football forum!

UNC sucks and will be crushed in the MCB by the Vols

I thought you were going back to talking about football? That is clearly a basketball player.

I will be rooting for the vols in this one, but if you say you're going to talk about football, talk about football, not basketball.

Minnesota and VANDERBILT. I'll leave it at that

You've got to be kidding me, if you want to drag in those then let's drag in the Little Sisters of the Poor that beat UT in an exhibition game.

Just to throw a final trump card in there--head to head UT can't sniff UNC.

Come on. You have no idea who would win head to head. But please focus on the right sport. You show how lacking your football program is when all you have to go to is the basketball team. UNC=TRASH! GBO!!

Our football team (which is what this thread is about) is gonna stomp you. Our hoops team would stomp you (if you could make the tourney). Buncha pathetic wannabes. :loco:
