Official Major League Soccer/US Men's National Team Thread

Beckerman is prob my favorite player this go round. Love his grit, heart and general badassery roaming the middle. Glad he finally made it to a WC, he's making the most of it.

Jones has been fantastic. His runs from the midfield as well as thru balls to the wings have really improved our attack. He did look like he had heavy legs in the game against Germany, but then again our entire team did as well.

I love me some Clint Dempsey. Always have. But Jones might be my favorite player. The dude just does stuff. And he is fearless. Whenever the ball is in his, well, legs, I feel comfortable. Like I did with Landon Donovan.

I like him.

82 and partly cloudy in Salvador

You know, I was about to say "dammit," but 82 for Europeans might be like 110 for us. And if it's cloudy, there is a good chance it will also be very humid. We'll see. Regardless, while one would think it a miscellany strength of ours, we haven't seemed to take to the humidity too well, which has surprised me a little.

It was "only" 87° at the game today that was played in near suffocating heat. Anything in the 80's is probably going to be pretty rough for the European teams.

I felt bad about our chances before all our group stage games, but I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about Tuesday! Probably a jinx

It is. 80 degrees and people start dropping like flies. It's funny living in Florida because you can always tell the Europeans during the "winter months"..they have sunburns at 60 degrees.

Disappointed in both of them.

Agreed on Bradley... Zusi I thought looked very composed against Ghana, and the cross to Brroks was good.

Even with some of our most important t players playing badly, we're still through to Round of 16. Bodes well for the future. Even bodes well for Tuesday and beyond if we can play to our potential.

It rains for two days before the game. So Humidity will be a major factor

when Bedoya has been healthy, he has been a STUD out there...he has become one of my favorites. He seems to be in the right place at the right time and is calm on the ball.

I read that Bradley had covered nearly 26 miles in the World Cup so far. I did not know until this morning that he has covered the most mileage than any other player in the tournament. Wow.

Right? I live in Lakewood Ranch and during the winter a ton of Europeans come here. It will be 65 degrees and I'm in a sweatshirt and those people will be loving live in shorts and tshirts.

Altidore is "ready and available" for Belgium game tomorrow.

I know conditioning will be an issue and I'm always questionable about returning players early with hamstring issues, but start him. Roll the dice. He adds a goal scorer to a lineup scarce of them.
