Was lurking and happy to see this thread.
Julian will be a huge asset no doubt. I will head to Jacksonville on June 7th to watch the men play Nigeria. I hope to see him on the roster and receiving minutes for that game. It will be the last before World Cup play.

Should be a grate Word Cup!

Seems a lot of people are pissed that he was gifted a WC spot, but Im ok with it. The experience will be valuable, if he is truly going to be the "guy".

No Im just prematurely speculating, repeating what Ive been hearing the talking heads discuss. Supposedly the kids ticket was stamped when he agreed to play for US. I heard that he might not even be cleared by the Mexico unfriendly match, but he is still on the plane to Brazil.

If we have to give the last spot on the bench to a guy as young and talented as him to lock him down for the future, that feels like a good trade off IMO.

Agreed but many are concerned that it will cause unrest in the locker room which might. alter team play on the pitch. I dont really get that. These guys are world class professionals. You know your job. Do your job.

Nike was entirely too conservative on both the US and UK kits. I wanted a US jersey for this world cup, but I really dislike them:

As an aside, I wish we would keep the shield as the permanent logo. The USA soccer one is and always has been hokey...

I, for one, am excited about Julian Green, but I am even more hopeful and excited about the possibility of getting Gedion Zelalem. I think if we somehow convince him to play for us it will be the biggest break for the US national team to date. The kid is going to be a star.

That would be nice, even though I think it's going to prove to a little harder to pull off than Green was. That being said, at least he has declined to the U-17 call up to Germany, for now.

Only problem there is if he chooses the US and loses his German citizenship, it means he loses his EU citizenship as well and that throws a wrench into his Arsenal work permit. I think they would prefer he play for Germany.

If the WC away kit actually had the dark blue from our flag and the centenial crest, it would be a great look. Of course if if if.

big game tonight, excited to see how we play having more of our main guys there (dempsey, donovan, bradley all playing together for the first time in a while).

Also, really excited to see julian green play

Went to 7 authorized Nike dealers yesterday to find a Team USA soccer t-shirt for the game tomorrow, and not one of them had any gear.
