hopefully they do away with the terrible kicking meter in last year's game. i'd really like to know who thought that was a good idea to present to the development team.

I only played it like 5 times ('11 that is) and the arcade style in it made NCAA seem life-like. Defenses were so bad.

Real online franchise mode would be awesome.

leagueManager Developer Blog: Madden NFL 12 Hands-On Impressions

"During my week in Orlando visiting EA Tiburon studio, I, along with other members of the Madden community, had the opportunity to get extensive play time on Madden NFL 12. At the end of the week, we each tallied up around 30 hours of play time amongst the different modes and features, Derek and I focused on game play improvements as well as offline "Franchise" mode. Now that Josh Looman has released the offline franchise improvements, I would like to take a little closer look at some of the new gameplay improvements as well as the offline franchise additions. In the following few passages I will go into further detail on the upgrades that have put Madden NFL 12 at the top of my list for "must have, day 1 purchases" for 2011."

The most talked about feature amongst the Madden NFL 12 community has been the elimination of suction blocking and tackling. Gone are the days where your Linebacker shoots through the line of scrimmage with a clear path at the running back only to slide sideways into an Offensive Lineman who is out of position to initiate the block. In Madden NFL 12, if this same scenario presents itself, your HB will find himself on the ground seeing birdies. However, since suction has been removed across the board, no longer can a defender just run up to you with a poor angle and make the easy tackle.

Are they seriously ignoring online franchise? This game is useless to me unless they COMPLETE online franchise.

Depends on whether the new features roll over to online franchise. The ability to scout players like they talked about and have legitimate free agent bidding process would be pretty sick.

the features that they've put into the madden franchise for the past 5 or 6 years have consistently ranged from non-existant to awful. online franchise would be fun to have if they actually put some time into it.

If they just took some of the things from franchise that The Show has, it would be one of the best football games ever made.

You mean like making it offline only? :)

I skipped '11. I think the only Madden games I have are '08 and '10

I really don't mind an offline franchise, the nuts and bolts stuff involved in franchise would make an online version tedious imo
