Official Madden '10 Thread

You guys who fellate EA's regular 'improvements' as something groundbreaking mak me chuckle.

How about this? trash the game after you play it. I'll hold off what I think til I play it too. It's only fair to do that rather than either one of us spew garbage about how good or bad the game is before either one of us plays it.

Volball it just not what i expected from the game with so much pub. I have played not long because it wasnt really anything but Ncaa with different players and jerseys. The pro tak is ok Qb rating for me only played with Ben Peyton for couple quarters neither missed any throws.Stafford missed one in a couple of Quarters. Running the ball with Willie parker was insane avg. around 8 a carry against New England. Chris Johnson from the people i have talked to say he is unreal seems to me speed seems huge in the game.

BTW this is Mason

I'm not sure if you mess with sliders, but a lot of people are saying that all-pro might be too easy while all-madden is ridiculous as always. So you could those to get a good balance when playing the computer.

Have you played other humans? My big question is does it feel like strategy is important when playing other humans or is it just a bunch of cheese that prevails?

no not at all i did play 2 humans i could run the ball with Willie Parker and Mendenhall all day unstoppable.

Well my opinion of the game is different than Masons and Smokey's, go figure. Imo Madden 10 is head and shoulders above NCAA. I am playing on All Madden with some sliders and the gameplay is much much much better than Madden 09 or NCAA10. It is true that I like the jazzy little graphics and other non gameplay things, but gameplay is just as important to me and I think it is a wonderful upgrade from 09. I do think that it was a little overhyped :) but unlike most years where I have been sadly dissapointed, I am very happy with 10.

Well, I'm going to come out and say i like this one. It isn't a whole lot different from NCAA gameplay wise, perhaps it plays a little slower but the overall crispness is quite similar.

The display is much better, though i will never make or break a game on extra visual stuff, but it is pretty nice if i can say so myself. One issue i have is that the commentary doesn't flow with the game as well as in NCAA, it sounds totally out of place, but again, it's not a deal breaker.

Not a $60 game, of course, but if you know the right 7-11s and can get it at a budget price sans the instruction manual, i would reccommend it.

The one thing I am going to like about this game more than NCAA is the ridiculous amount of customizeable gameplay options. There are like five game speeds and you can change the speed differences between players. For example, you can make it where a 99 speed guy is a ton faster than a 95 speed guy and vice versa.

Its a great game. My only complaints so far is the menu system of the franchise mode is hard to use. I don't know why they changed that. I also don't understand why they took the talent levels out of coaches. The only major complaint I have is that all the imported draft classes ratings suck. Sam Bradford though 99 on NCAA went in the 5th round and Eric Berry went in the 6th and I drafted him and he was a 63 overall. Its like it keeps the names and randomizes the talent. Thats disappointing because my favorite thing to do is get in franchise mode and import NCAA classes and build a bad team up.

I imported draft classes as well and had a little different results than you did. Bradford for some reason came in as a 72 overall which surprised me, but Tebow and EB came in highly rated and went in the first round. Now I traded some players and picks and ended up getting Tebow and Berry for my Chargers team. EB is beast in my franchise, a 83 in is rookie year with 4 picks and 5 sacks one for a safety so far.

The menu system is from Head Coach. If you played that game, you will love the menu system. The old was clunky and laggy

If you had read any of the available information on this game prior to the release, then you would realize that they are now utilizing the entire scale when ranking players. Bradford in the 5th round and Berry in the 6th round sounds pretty stupid though.

The imported draft classes are entirely random as far as their rankings. I think I'm just going to go with the premade draft classes. Which is better than last year, when they were randomly generated.
