Driving home yesterday from work, I was listening to Russell on 94.3 "The Drive". They were taking calls for folks to suggest nicknames.

I missed most of it, but they read the list of the best ones. I almost wrecked when the came to "The Big Nobrowski".

I was putting a pinch of snuff in my mouth at the time and busted out laughing, dropping the open can of snuff in my lap.

Again with the eyebrows. Sometimes I feel like im back in middle school when I read this crap over and over again.

I'm in the "promote him by his real name" camp. But color announcers and fans in the stands should take advantage of the opportunity:

elusive moves = dobbleganger effect

If he runs over a defender = defender got dobb-smacked
(surely some newspaper last Sunday ran the headline, "Gamecocks Dobb-smacked"

And anytime he scores against Vandy, two days after Thanksgiving, I wouldn't mind punctuating the Nashville soundscape with onomatopoeic shouts of "Dobble, dobble, dobble."

All in good fun. But remember... in the heat of the night, they call him MISTER Dobbs.
