My advice is be 100% Gruden. If he doesn't coach...the next time he comes to a game hand him a banana and tell him to make it stink because it's most likely he said no.

I lived in Eastern Montana for a bit. Got spoiled with the hunting, and I have a hard time sitting in a stand waiting for an animal to come by. I've essentially quit hunting around here for the most part. I would rather fly fish.

Try stalking. When I hunt East Tennessee, that’s all I do. I love hunting mountains. The brush here in Mississippi means I have to get in a stand. But there is nothing like staying below a ridge line and following game trails.

I thought u had already checked out of this thread. U were here in 2012, I just don't get why u have repeatedly from the beginning thrown shade at the idea of Gruden coming? First time around u personally saw a MOU withh Gruden but 5 yrs later it's totally absurd that he would come here? It just doesn't add up..

Because he probably isn't in the loop this time.:rock:SOON! GRUDEN TO THE HILL!

Right but straight up, DP walked in here last night and leveraged Ergen’s average contributions against any talk of him being a part of the Gruden deal.

I doubt Ergen has written a big check yet. If this goes down, he will write it once a deal is signed sealed and our boy is on the podium.

Here is a gem for you:

I have talked with by phone or email with four guys who are current assistants in either SEC or Big 12 and one guy who is at a former SWC school with a hot property head coach.

I was at a wedding in Dallas over the weekend and a cousin's husband is a Cowboys assistant who was there. They all believe that Gruden to Tennessee is at MOU status and that his ESPN contract and some other business issues are the determinant on timing. They named some guys who they believe have been contacted via intermediaries. Some are college guys and at least two are current NFL assistants.

This is gossip level stuff, not official statements, but all of the college guys (except one) are facing their head coach being fired so 90% of their time is looking for a place to land. The current UT assistants have been desperately looking for jobs ever since UGA game.

He a good guy. But remember he gets his info from the ad. There is a pattern here folks.

Mr. SFD really loves the feeling of the woods waking back up and forgetting he is there. Gets him every time. I'm not at all sure that he is disappointed that he hasn't killed anything yet.

I'll agree with you 1000%. I don't care if I kill anything, I just hate being confined to a stand for fear of walking up on someone, and the property lines being so close together. The elk I killed in CO was 2.5 miles from the truck. I can't do that here.

Yikes. And yes, he loves that too. He really loves any opportunity he has to dominate nature.

We get down to fly fish the Little River, various streams in GSMNP, and on the other side of the Smokies we love Nantahala and areas around Bryson City. BTW, a guide we use in Bryson City is great friends with Heath Shuler, he’s a really cool dude.

Has anyone had an opportunity to check the donation history of Ergen to UT.... That will tell us a lot imho....

I will away from the board again until late in the day and possibly evening ...surely that information is available somewhere

I know someone in the fundraiser group at Tennessee and he says he’s gives substantially.

Now, I don’t think that means Haslam, $50mil money. I don’t think Ergen has ever been involved in a coaching search and doubtful he would be this time.

I do that some, the property is not big enough to do much of it, though. And when other people that I hunt with are on it, meh.

My wife is from Bryson City we visit frequently. I move the brewery and Nate and Nick's Pizza. Also have a great little chocolate shoppe.

I live in Fort Collins...but I hunt all over. Used to hunt near Meeker all the time.

Oak Ridge, late season. Last couple of times, nada. I think the new subdivisions have changed the migration routes, and the forest service ruined the area when they went and cleared a bunch of land.

Was there a beaver sighting last night?

No, and there won't be, at least on here. Twitter is where it's at. He changed his Twitter description to Legion of Miserables, and, if you didn't see, also changed his picture to Nantucket and Nantucket Sound.
