As a professional lurker it seems as if Kress is always taking rumors from the furoms as his own. He post a few hours behind rumors saying he has info. Wasn’t there screen shots last night from TOS of a guy who said he is friends with a d1 coach saying gruden is building a staff?

The fact that he threw Harbaugh's name out kind of speaks of his credibility, IMO.

Something has to give very soon. Too much info is leaking out and if it’s just rumors as many think, it’s still coming from radio and tv media. At some point someone HAS to address the elephant in the room. Talk has gone from hilarity to possibility from the biggest doubters out there. I also think it’s pretty funny that for a group of long time Tennessee fans nobody got the Legions of the Miserable reference. Johnny Majors used that to talk about Tennessee fans starting in the 1980s. He made it famous during the 0-6 start to the 1988 season. He continued to use the term until he left.

I’ve always heard that Grundy and Pickens don’t get along all that well. It could just be the media, but that’s what I’ve always read. I’m sure you know more about that relationship than I do

DeerPark might be in the know and telling the truth (I don't think he is), but the condescending attitude he had towards the fans in what he was saying was ridiculous. Who was the guy that was blaming the fans for coaching issues and how the team is performing last week? That's who he sounded like. Screw him.
He also said Cade would not be a Vol if Butch isn't the coach. That tells me all I need to know right there. He's got that completely backwards.

Good morning all. Last night was eventful. I have no idea if Gruden will be our coach. I’ve read what’s been posted and chose to believe that it’s highly likely he’s coming. That being said, my life won’t come crashing down if he’s not. I want to win again. Win big. And I think there’s only 1 person who can bring ALL of the dynamics we need to put us back on top.

Deer Park is trusted and has always been a great source. But last night was different. He was condescending in tone and presented his opinions as facts. That’s unlike him. He’s usually very calculated and on point. There’s no grey on this matter. Gruden is coming or he’s not. We've turned a corner in this and I feel like it’s coming to a head very soon. Let’s enjoy this day and do what the cokehead, CrossFit cowboy Tim McGraw said and “Live like We’re Dying”. Make it an awesome day!

If you read closer, he actually said he's NEVER WORKED IN THE UTAD . That maskes sense. Anyone inside there that's given out info like he's claimed over the many years surely would have been fired by now. I might be wrong, but Currie comes across to me as a leader who does not tolerate leaks unless he releases it. I wonder ifc DPs source is not as forthcoming as in years gone by. His statement and opinion you quoted was based on his past experience with his business dealings involving D1 schools. He didnt mention or even alude there was a direct UTAD source for his statement.

I'm laughing so hard at the idea that Charlie Ergen is going to spearhead anything for Tennessee.

Ergen has given the same amount every year for more than a decade. He doesn't make big additional gifts for facility upgrades and declined to make a "leadership gift" on the stadium renovation approved Thursday. The $50 million already raised for the project includes zero from him, despite a personal trip to Colorado to ask for it by a group of UT administrators a month or so ago.

Under no circumstances is he going to write a check for a new coach, especially not one for Jon Gruden. Unless he's had a full frontal lobotomy in the last month that has changed his personality completely, any story involving him getting involved in a coaching search or the funding of one is a total fabrication.

we don't care who gets the credit. if haslam wants the credit, fine. if currie wants the credit, fine. we don't care who looks like the hero. just get gruden.

go back and tell currie and haslam that we don't care who gets the credit, just get gruden!
