My only point is that if it is not legally binding, it's only a gentlemen's agreement. Assuming it exists at all and has been agreed on, either party could still walk away. UT couldn't force him to sign a contract to coach, and he can't make UT give him a job.

I see you're point, but from what I understand about them, it's basically one of those "look we've spent all this time working on this, so why would you sign it if you don't mean it?" In other words, if he did in fact sign it, then walks away, he'd basically lose all credibility in terms of negotiating in the future. But you are right in terms of the fact the university couldn't force him to sign on the dotted line in regards to a job offer even though he signed a MOU.

If Gruden is a done deal I can see Grude telling Currie to let him coach out. They are pretty good friends.

If the terms are met, why would UT or JG walk away? Too much has gone into this.
