Seems like I struck a nerve with some folks in the AD with the plane comments. There are many levers we can and will pull to apply pressure. Incompetence nor Egos will get in the way of Gruden becoming our next Head Coach.

You have to go back a little bit and understand that Tennessee went without a president for a very long time in the Mike Hamilton era. They honestly haven't had much leadership in that position since Joe Johnson. Once Cheek left (who has spent 34 years at Florida) and Dave Hart left (who had previously been at Alabama). It seems as if we have the right folks in place to make good things happen. We just had to do some housecleaning to get all the foundation blocks in place for the rebuild.

Yes, the current situation, at least as of a few weeks ago was that the boosters were well unified for the "top" candidate but split on others. Chip Kelly specifically was mentioned to me as a candidate that some would accept and some were absolutely against. His name is the only one that was mentioned at all to me.

That is the multi-million dollar question. If there isnt at least a memorandum of understanding between UT and Gruden then that is ok but if the deal is done it is done.

If not then I am hopeful that it is headed in the direction of an MOU.

I believe the deal with Gruden has BEEN done. May have actually been the easy part. Trying to get 10-12 millionaire/billionaires, educational higher ups and an athletic director to agree on something could literally require an act of God. Everyone has their opinion has believes it’s the right one. There has to be a unifying faction of which most of these people come from and can pull from for commonality. Enter the beans. Let’s get that hashtag going. #enterthebeans

I was told that the boosters were unified in seeking one candidate. I wasn't told who it was. I was further told that the boosters were not unified at all if the one candidate fell through. That one of the people they weren't unified about, for instance was Chip Kelly. Some were for him and some were not. This from someone who had worked directly with and for Haslam for a long time and was an employee in 2012 but has since retired.

Is it so hard to spell 'Haslam' correctly. The guy's brother is Tennessee's freakin' governor.
