During the last coaching search a group of people had Gruden ready to take the job... and coaches were told not to take the job in some instances. But the administration didn't want to give up the power that he requested. Hart hired Butch with the Haslam's backing.

If the governor wanted these cuts and they didn't happen, then the other group of people are getting their way at this time.

Just to clarify I'm not on TOS. My information came to me via text shortly before the report on TOS came out. I don't know what any of it means in the big picture and was just passing along what I was told.

Also I know nothing about the Gruden contract details.

Hawk, are you insinuating that when i went to church Sunday night thinking Currie was gonna fire Butch, that when i got home and nothing happened, it was because this Kendrick think came to light and Currie put the brakes on the fire announcement to further investigate so as to possibly fire with cause, thus saving millions on the buyout?

Seems like I struck a nerve with some folks in the AD with the plane comments. There are many levers we can and will pull to apply pressure. Incompetence nor Egos will get in the way of Gruden becoming our next Head Coach.

That is probably related to the fact that he just became eligible to return to practice from Injured Reserve - Designated to Return status.

Anyone else hearing about some major announcement very soon, within the next few hours? If so, ant reliable info? I've heard everything from Currie and Jones having a massive blow out to Gruden being released from his contract at ESPN and closing on a house in Knoxville today.

I can tell you that as a matter of public record many republican lawmakers in the state legislature have been openly opposed to outsourcing the maintenance workers at UTK. There are two big reasons for this that don't have anything to do with football.
