Much respect here for BCarter and what he brings to the board.... but I am still on the Train.... until it runs off the track and I drown in the creek.....

Gruden or bust is where I am

Still holding strong at 70%

Was hoping this coaching search would not be as screwed up as it was in 2012. I firmly believe we had Gruden back then....and somehow it got messed up and we ended up scrambling and got Butch, just like we scrambled and got Dooley. I would like to think they would have had plan this time around. One would think that Butch had no chance of coming back after the first few losses. Its pretty apparent that they have no plan. UT will once again be scrambling and trying to compete with all the other openings that will be out there come seasons end. Totally pathetic!!!!!!!

One thing I am 100% confident about is our dysfunctional and incompetent administration screwing this up. I honestly don’t think they have made any final decisions on Butch yet.
Now, I think he will continue to lose and they will have no choice. But I firmly believe it is a $*** storm, cluster #*** in the decision chain.

Bccarter has already been invited to new coach meet and greet so Butch must be gone.

You have said many times now that Currie would be untouchable. You aren't considering that Haslam's son is the governor, which also makes him the Chairman of the BoT, which also makes him Currie's ultimate boss.

Chairman or not, the man still has to follow rules correct?

I'm about going to bet, he can't just up and fire Currie without a BoT vote, and I'm about going to bet, you have to have a majority for it to pass.

Now if that holds true, then there'd be no way Haslam could fire him without some kind of cause or something of that nature.

If you are so confident that it WILL NOT be Gruden, how can you be SO confident that we will do better?..... Not an attack, you know that I totally respect you and your opinion... I am simply looking for truth and something to believe in...

Here is the problem as I see it.... We are going to be in competition with 5 possible six other SEC teams for top notch coaches.... thus shrinking the pool of quality candidates to a narrow gap... Our AD seems determined to hold out till the end of the season.... by that time recruits will have flown away and many coaches who COULD bring us back to prominence will be already hired..

If it is NOT Gruden.... we are in a BIG TIME mess imho

Hopefully not on the BIG TIME mess. I was specifically referring to Larry Fedora lol. I do however expect it to be one of the strong up and comers instead of a veteran. Just my opinion.

But that's not been the narrative this past week. It's been the deal is done, Gruden is coming, Jones has been fired since UGA.

Now, why would we need to pressure someone to accept the deal if this past weeks information is to be true?

Now just today alone I've seen people are blaming Haslam, but my point on that is, if you have everyone BUT the Haslams on board, do you really need their ok to hire him?

Which leads to my second point, that if Currie had the backing of the AA, Boosters, BoT and the whole of the AD, and Gruden has agreed then why would he not go ahead and hire Gruden and tell the Haslams to f%$k off? Seriously the guy would be dang near untouchable if he were able to pull that off. If he doesn't need the board approval to hire, which has been floated out there, then he for sure wouldn't need Haslams to say yes, they'd either like it or lump it.

So when MIT says now we need to add pressure on someone going against all that's been said this week, then I can see why people would call him troll.

Not going to try to explain it differently. “Done” does not refer to having it signed sealed and delivered and just waiting to be announced. People may have read things that way but I’ve never seen that as what he intended. The battle over semantics is something I’ve somehow gotten into and will now out of now.

Sorry folks saying Gruden is 0% precent chance here don't know anymore than anyone else. Including Bcarter. His obsession with the Beaver is just as over the top as others on here. Many more have said that they have heard things that are just as credible as Carter or anyone else. Atlanta Vol, Boro, DTO, and many more. Too much smoke for there not to be a fire there somewhere. I don't put my whole stock in any one person, not Bcarter or MIT. I have to be told be a few that have some big connections that have no reason to lie to me at all, that we are persuing Gruden. I believe them, I take all the info and collectively make up my own mind. So for the ones getting angry because we believe that Gruden is going to be our next coach, all I can say is what and see. SOON!!!! GBO!!!!

Too much smoke with Gruden, to not be a fire :)

I have been on board up until today that it could be possible. But today I think that things have stalemated. No evidence or inside information. Just looking at how Currie does things I think he will shock the world in a negative way and you are right. We are in a big time mess. I am beginning to wonder, what is it that UT has to offer. Especially when you will have 5-6 other SEC programs in the mix and our reputation for going cheap. I am looking for another snake oil salesman stepping up to the podium.

I'm confused as well. A few days ago, bcartervol98 stated that his connections from 2012 were not longer in play. Unless he's got a new connection, how can he be so certain? Is it like Hyams stating that Gruden has a 0% chance?

This morning, while still basically asleep, this man said to his wife something to the affect of...Have a Gruden day!
:)

I'd take Gundy in a heartbeat and he didn't get a raise the last time.

thats ur opinion i respect it, but i been down this road to many times to think itll work out to our advantage with him......

and if he didnt get a raise the second time on paper, it was back door, im not the only person with that thought process

This guy is certifiable. I have tried to say it nicely but I will say it plainly now, no pun intended.

STOP LISTENING TO MIT BEAVER.

I cannot say everything I want to but I am <1% at this point Gruden will be our next coach as badly as I would love to see it happen. There is a straight up troll convention going on in this thread.

Did Haslam and his stupid son put a stop to the deal again? We fans deserve to know who or what keeps this from happening every damn time we try to hire Gruden.

Please do not put any stock in what I say I hope people are forming their own opinions...as I have. I would rather not be mentioned in the list of "insiders". I have connections but after 2012 all you will get from me will be stated as my opinion.

Any ideas about what sort of offense Gruden will run? I’m no expert, but it seems he always favored the power game. I’m curious how that would mesh with today’s flag football offenses.

Of course, but it's a TERRIBLE place to be in when you have pissed off your boss/the most powerful man and family in the state. You'd be far from untouchable.
